  • So many of the songs!
I bought this for my granddaughter who is a huge Harry Potter fan. She was absolutely thrilled with it! Awesome pictures and some of her favorite songs from the movies.

  • I Bought Both "Easy Piano" and "Piano Solo"
I bought both the "easy piano" and "piano solo". (Easy piano is on the LEFT side of the pic; Piano solo on the RIGHT.) I am a big fan of the Harry Potter series since I grew up in the era of the Harry Potter books (I'm a grown lady now), and thought since I've only played piano for a few months, let me start with Easy Piano. I learn music faster than most people, so I didn't have trouble getting the fingering, although I had to spend 3-5 hours a day for a few days to be able to play 1 page of music well. The Easy Piano has a lot of numbers above the notes to help you with fingering, and was useful. The biggest problem I had was the arrangement. I disliked Hedwig's Theme so much, it doesn't sound like the music in the movie, and I wanted something close to that. So I purchased the Piano Solo, and it arrived the same day. What a big difference! You can see my photo for comparison. Yes, this version is much better, the sound is nearly identical to the movie. 5/5 stars for that. There are almost no numbers above the notes so be ready to practice this with a pencil nearby. I'm upset Gildory Lockharts Theme is not in this book (nor in Easy Piano), I'll have to find that online, and Harry's Christmas is not in these books either. Very sad. I will say this, the Piano Solo has fewer pages of movie still images than in Easy Piano. Why is that? I don't know. As a giant fan, I would like all the movie still images in my Piano Solo book, but at least I get to view them in the Easy Piano version. I don't think that's a factory issue. I'd recommend the Piano Solo instead of Easy Piano purely on its arrangement. I believe an early intermediate would be able to handle the Piano Solo with lots of practice. ... show more

  • Excellent Piano Music for Intermediate to Advanced Students
Although I have played piano for many years and can (slowly) read music, I play mostly by ear. I like a challenge from time to time, especially since using sheet music will help to keep my reading skills at a reasonable level. Buying sheet music from films can be a hit or miss endeavor and in most cases the product doesn’t come close to being satisfactory. The Harry Potter sheet music was exactly what I was hoping it would be. I would consider the arrangements in the intermediate level (and perhaps some of them in the advanced level). Skimming through the book, I was pleased that these are not watered-down versions with the emphasis on the melody. Rather, there is plenty of discord to replicate the sounds from the movies. The cover binder is of good quality, and should maintain its shape during normal use. I can easily predict these songs will take hours of practice for me to be able to play each one smoothly. Finding 36 of them in one book is a pleasure and certainly less expensive than trying to track them all down individually. Highly recommended. Five stars. ... show more

  • Amazingly Cheap Collectors Item ... but missing one very crucial piece.
With the addition of the never before published "Leaving Hogwarts," this product is phenomenal. They truly chose the best pieces of each movie, however, A "Window to the Past" from Prisoner of Azkaban is missing. For some, Prisoner of Azkaban is the best score, and this product definitely plays tribute to "Double Trouble" but misses out on the other great theme of the third movie. There are a bunch of selections from the first movie, then the second and third get ripped off. There is the great Spider theme from Chamber of Secrets, along with "Gilderoy Lockhart" and the "Flying Car" that are missing. But apart from the absence of these pieces, this product is a great buy. Retail on each individual movie's sheet music is $15, this book is less than $20 and comes with the best of the Harry Potter scores (for the most part). I recommend it to every Harry Potter fan, especially for the price. Even if you don't play piano or read sheet music, it is amazing just to have the complete collection in one book for such a great price. ... show more

  • Book is great but....
The book itself is great but there are a few things you should know before you get the book. First off, as soon as you get the book, you probably need to get it cut and binded. The material of the book makes it so that it is really hard to open, if that makes sense. Also when I got my music book, a couple of the pages had dirt stains all over them. I know I did not get used so I don't know why that was there. In the end, the music in the book is great. ... show more

  • you'll love the book
If you are a fan of Harry Potter, you'll love the book. It has the most popular songs we're familiar with, plus many of the background compositions as well. This book is for upper level intermediate players. I think there is also a book for easy piano too. Be sure before you order, you know which one you are buying. The easy piano is extremely basic, & you'll find yourself composing additional add in notes to fill the sound you lack with the easy piano book. Playing these songs make you want to pull out the Potter DVD's and spend the weekend in Harry's world from year one through year 7. ... show more

  • Harder than the "Easy Piano" collections.
This is the same collection of songs as in the Easy Piano version (ISBN-10: 073908772X ISBN-13: 978-0739087725), but is definitely harder. The Easy Piano version is low-intermediate, and this one is high-intermediate. This collection has 64th notes, trills, grace notes, 2-handed rolled chords, and very active left hand. In the picture I posted this book is on the left, and the Easy Piano version is on the right. ... show more
