As a diehard Potter fan, I was really excited when I found this. Other miniature Quidditch sets I had found were really juvenile, and almost Christmas-ornament looking. When I saw this one had a sort of aged look, and that the price was so low, I ordered it! It came yesterday and I was so happy to open it up and look inside. The trunk was actually bigger than I expected (for some reason I thought the description said 6 inches but this is like 9). The trunk itself IS made of cardboard, but it's a very thick and sturdy cardboard/cardstock material. The removable cardboard piece holding the balls is thinner cardboard, but since this is a display item and not a toy, that doesn't bother me. The balls are really cute, and actually very heavy for their size. The bludgers are probably the size of a golfball or large walnut and the quaffle is a bit bigger. I knew when I ordered this that the snitch was not removable, but for as big as the other balls are, I feel like the snitch is proportionally too big, but that's probably just me. There are some raised details on the snitch which is (I'm assuming) why it's bigger. The lock on the front is small and plastic. It doesn't seem like the keys are necessary, but it's a cute touch. The lock does seem fragile, so I wouldn't play with it too much. The poster in the bottom was also cute. It's not normal poster sized, but probably half that. Overall, it's really cute. You can't expect too much for something less than $20, and for that amount of money, I feel like I got a very good deal. Great gift for any Harry Potter fan. Looks amazing next to my Lego Hogwarts castle. It is a tad bit smaller than I thought it would be, but I am not unhappy with it. So definitely look at the dimensions. Looks great and seems like good quality.

This is actually really cute. It's not the best materials, but still better than I expected it to be. I also thought it was gonna be really tiny because of the price, but it's a pretty good collectible size (not life size). It makes a great addition to my collection. The keys and poster are under the balls. It's a little hard to remove the inner box to get to them because it is a tight fit. And for those leaving bad reviews because the snitch doesn't have wings...have you seen the movie? The wings don't expand until it is removed from the box. Same in the last movies when Harry is given the snitch to keep. No wings there either. For $18, it's really cute. If you are looking for a life size, perfectly made set, you are gonna spend a lot more money. This will fit nicely on a shelf or dresser, look nice, and not take up too much space. ... show more

What I liked was the detail put into the designs on the box, the likenesses of the balls inside to the actual quidditch playing balls detail-wise, and the poster and key that is underneath them. However, many reviews on here say they disliked the size. Yes, the size is smaller than you would expect. The box is only about the length of an average human foot and it is made of cardboard, essentially. The golden snitch is not whole, but only half of one glued into the lid. Mine came slightly crooked. The other quidditch balls inside are secured to their spots by plastic covering that you can easily take out once it arrives, though. So, if you love Harry Potter and need some quidditch merchandise still to complete your set, I believe this is a fun little addition to the collection. However if you’re looking for movielike quality and more accurate sizing, I do not suggest this gift box. Overall, a cute gift and it’s worth the price. ... show more

I bought this for my son and it is wonderful. Its a novelty item. It is not a big chest it is something to put on your shelf you can take all of them out of the chest, they can be a little difficult to remove but due to ordering this more so as a decor piece we werent planning on playing with the different balls. The insert is cardboard and I would say its a little cheap so if you want something to display and play with I dont suggest that with this just because the wear and tear on the cardboard that holds them in place would in my opinion get ruined pretty quickly. Would also just like to point out to the company selling this that they should probably remove the price tag on the back since they are selling it here on Amazon for about 40 and the price tag says 25...wouldnt want to feel ripped off. Im still okay with it as it is a wonderful piece, just saying though. ... show more

I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan. I basically love anything Harry Potter. I have to say though, I was particularly underwhelmed with this purchase. It just was so very cheap. Made of plastic and fairly thin cardboard. The snitch is just a half of one and glued onto the inside lid. Also the hinges are so 'shaky' I'm sort of scared to open and close the thing. Now, that being said, I do think the details are nicely done (for what it is). They are painted pretty nicely on the inside of the lid. There is a plastic lock and key that comes with it. ( That's a nice little touch). It also comes with a folded up poster. Although the balls are made of plastic, they are a heavy and sturdy plastic with some good stitching type details. I also like the size. It fits very nicely on shelf or with other HP collectibles. Overall, it's a fun little set to own (especially for an avid Harry Potter Fan), and it does look good. For the price, you won't get much better. I suppose if you want a really nice Quidditch Set, you are going to have to really invest some money into it... maybe at a place like Etsy. ... show more
