I am in the middle of a remodel. Wanted to add some bluetooth speakers on my patio. I have 3-4 of the older "bottle" speakers. Just didn't do it for me. I looked at some really expensive ones and then a neighbor had an older model of this HK and let me borrow it for a few days. It was perfect, or so I thought. I ordered the Studio 6 and was blown away. I loved it so much I order a second for "surround" sound. I have been a audiophile for almost 50 years. This $180 waterproof speaker delivers powerful bass, clear mid-range and treble notes, and keeps playing longer than the Energizer Bunny. It is not a mini speaker. Look carefully at its dimensions. And its weight. And remember it can fill a large living room with ample sound all evening long. I had an onyx 3 but I lost it during traveling. I vowed to get another but I heard the newer versions weren’t as good. The bass was weak and battery life was bad so I waited. I’m glad I held out this speaker is fantastic! The bass is great! I don’t know about the battery yet because I haven’t used it without the plug yet. This is the best portable speaker if you are a bass head who enjoys a deep, clean bass. The speaker performs best when plugged in, but retains its bass very well for its size when running on battery power. Its sound profile is clean, consisting of soft highs and very deep lows. This speaker is only equipped with one woofer, 2 passive radiators and a single tweeter, therefore it will lack soundstage and a stereo sound. For what it is, the speaker sounds very pleasant regardless. Its battery life is only okay, especially if you're going to be playing at higher volumes. I've had several different blue-tooth speakers and let me tell you this thing is amazing!!! In a small room, outside, in a large room , it doesn't matter, this little speaker rocks!!! I'm a mechanic at Norfolk Naval Station, Va, so when I'm working on a piece of equipment, its in my tool box and wow, it rocks!!! Trust me when I say, you wont be disappointed if you buy this!!
