Wow!!! This candle and brand are amazing. So far, I’ve tried Josephine and Speakeasy and I am so impressed with both. I placed a massive order on their website for more. The scents are complex and beautiful. I’ve really never smelled anything quite as lovely. I use my candle warmer daily and have a large collection of candles, but I now only want to burn Harlem Candle Co candles. I was so hesitant to purchase because of the cost. I do have some other candles that are higher priced that I got on sale half price and like them, so I’m familiar with a wide range of prices. I think these candles are on point. This such a sexy scent. You imagine that gorgeous lady at the club. Darkly feminine, exotic, mysterious. The scent spreads throughout the room. I have been using mine with a candlelight and it's still strong after 3 weeks. I did take a plastic spoon to dip a bit off just to make sure the oils were still strong. will purchas again and in other Harlem scents. Small company doing it right. ... show more

**EDIT** 1 star to 4...I did receive a damaged first candle but Harlem offered me a full refund and replaced my candle for free. So I am changing my review based on their customer service. **ORIGINAL REVIEW** While it smelled amazing as soon as I opened it I am returning this candle. I'm not sure if it is a third party seller on here but my candle was not full and the wicks were black like it had been used. For $48 I would expect a better candle. Be careful! ... show more

I'm a bit of a candle freak, and for the past couple of years I've been looking for the perfect rose scented candle. I love to walk into a room after a candle has been burning for an hour or two and feel like I've stepped into a rose garden, a strong, rose-forward scent and the ability fill a room with scent are musts for me. Sadly, this didn't live up to expectations. The packaging is very pretty, but the scent is underwhelming - the most distinct note is a powdery vanilla, with just a hint of floral in the background. I left it to burn for a few hours, but the scent didn't really have much of an impact, even after stepping outside for a few minutes and then coming back. Overall, not worth the price point, although maybe other scents would be more to my liking. ... show more

Staying home during Covid has made me a candle connisuer. This brand is spectacular. Josephine is sultry, flirty, and warm. Yes, these are very expensive. I like them so much that I buy them anyway, but understand that the cost is likely prohibitive for some.

I really wanted to like this candle. I know smell is subjective. This review is based on my sense of smell only. The marketing history is interesting. But, Im buying a scented candle for smell & smell only. I dont want to "think" myself into liking something I dont. As others have said the Josephine candle has a baby powder scent. It was the primary scent and strong to me. There were other scents but not as strong as the baby powder and none I was particully fond of nor could identify. It just didn't have that high end luxury smell I was looking for or per description hoping for. The scent of Harlem candles are very unique but sadly, I haven't found one I like. ... show more
