  • Do NOT use the pin system for setting the X-Maxx gear mesh. Instead, manually set the gear mesh without the pins.With the pins removed, use the four 4x16mm button-head cap screws on the bottom to set gear mesh. Loosen the four 4x16mm button-head cap screws. Cut a narrow strip of notebook paper and run it into the gear mesh. Slide the motor and pinion gear into the spur gear. Tighten the four 4x16mm button-head cap screws, and then remove the strip of paper. You should be able to run a fresh strip of paper through the gears without binding them.

Lasted about 3 speed runs on fresh black top it's installed in a Traxxas X-Maxx. The truck is completely stock from ESC to Motor. This spur was installed using the manual mesh method. Not too tight and not too lose. The notebook paper did not bind and slid out easy. Just trash. Wish I could get refunded... False advertisement!!!!!!! This is not Hardened Steel!!!! Buyer beware!!!! Robinson Racing 20T pinion tore this thing to shreds in minutes. Now I have to spend 35 mins cleaning out the mess. I guess I have to wait a couple of weeks for my Robinson Racing 46T spur gear to arrive. ... show more

I should've check other reviews. this product is a waist of time and energy to have. I got them in the mail today and they both are already stripped. My XRT still has battery power left. Don't waist your time on this. Keep moving.
