My father was a shop teacher with many, many tools. One handy little tool he had was a device called a "Dremel," as, duh, it was made by the Dremel company. I haven't been able to find it for years, and when I need it, I miss it. No more. This is a handy dandy little tool. It is smaller than I expected, but works well. It comes with a bunch of accessories, most packed in a little plastic box. And it comes with a real neat carrying case. It has 3 speeds, and good torque.     • Good for light-duty use, fingernail grinding, polishing, etc.
The media could not be loaded. This is a great mini rotary tool for small/light jobs. It's gentle enough for filing down fingernails (humans or pets) or callus, even at the highest setting at best it tickles. This would not be good for any heavy-duty woodwork or metal grinding. It just doesn't have the power for that. The provided collets have small openings and won't fit any of my Dremel bits. Not an issue though, since plenty of bits were provided with the kit. I like that the Hardwell rotary tool is portable and rechargeable via USB-C since most of my devices/tools also use USB-C. I dislike the design of the spindle locking button as it feels easily snagged or accidentally pressed while using (which should never be done). ... show more

    • So versatile!
So I've only had a chance to try this out a few times, but I can already see that it's going to come in handy in many ways. Here's what I have used it for so far, with great results... cleaning and sanding in tight spaces - it works very well in tough, small spots like tight spaces behind faucets, old grout, sanding small details in wood; touching up engraving - I have a wooden urn with names/dates of 3 of our beloved pets engraved in the back, the engraving was always faint and I wanted to try to make the details more prominent, this worked terrific (although I strongly encourage practicing on a piece of wood first, I think I would have messed it up had I not done that); and the last thing I used it for is probably not at all what it was intended for, we had an old brick wall that we exposed and wanted to keep, but we had to replace parts of it which we actually did with brick facing, the two variations we bought were tumbled so that they look older/warn, but they still weren't quite as rough as the original bricks, so I'm using this to create similar details in the newer brick and it's working very well, slow going, but it's definitely helping blend the two together.     • Good little hobby tool.
This is a small rotary tool. It's rechargeable by USB, and is about the size of a "fat" pen. It's comfortable in the hand, and easy to switch between its three speeds. It comes with a reasonable selection of rotary tool bits, sanding drums and collets, as well as a convenient case. For the uses I have planned for it (hobby work, models, etc.) it should work fine. It's not the most powerful - I can dramatically slow it down by lightly touching the side of the turning chuck with the side of my finger - but for the uses I have planned (mostly working through thin-ish plastic) it'll do the trick. If you're planning on cutting metal thicker than aluminum foil or something like that, get a heavier duty rotary tool. But for lighter hobby work, this may just be the ticket. ... show more

I have owned several heavy duty 120 Volt Rotary tools for years. I have never owned a battery powered rotary tool. This small tool is sufficiently powerful enough with a maximum speed of 15,000 rpm to handle small around the house jobs. It is best suited for wood and plastics because of the small attachments. The attachments provided are enough to handle most light grinding and polishing tasks. The tool runs smoothly with little vibration and the rechargeable battery is nice. Got this so i can mark my name on my tools and so far it has worked great. It’s not a super heavy duty machine so dont expect miracles from it, but if you have a quick, small job then this could definitely work for you. Love that it’s super portable and doesnt need to be connected to a power supply. The first speed doesnt really do anything for me but the second and third are more than good enough to do the work. We have an expensive, far heavier tool that does what this does, but it’s a pain to lug out and set up for what’s usually a simple, two-minute task. I just finished using this unit to smooth the tip of a steel bolt after I hack-sawed it, and the result is perfect. I can’t get over the fact that it’s cordless too. So glad to have it! ... show more
