Description

We stock a wide variety of fasteners ideal for many applications around the home, farm, business, automotive, and in industry. Most of our fasteners have a light zinc plating over steel giving a more rust resistant finish. We also sell coated and stainless products for additional rust resistance. We stock many grades of fasteners ranging from low carbon steel on up to hardened, heat treated steel. Not all fasteners are applicable for all applications so be certain to test thoroughly and get the opinion of a licensed building or certified building or structural engineer before relying on these fasteners for any situations where failure would result in damage to property or person.

  • Some things I don't like make it hard for a better rating
Being sold by the pound not the number of screws means that I only got 43 screws. Now I'll have to wrangle 5 screws from the old pile and hope they're not twisted or mangled to bad so that I can get by until I can order more new screws. Next, there is a huge difference between SELF DRILLING and SELF THREADING which we used to call SELF TAPPING but I guess the newer generation doesn't understand what TAPPING is. Now they think it's all one in the same. Even the box says IT DRILLS WHILE IT DRIVES. I beg to differ. There is no way this screw can drill a hole through a metal trailer frame and I doubt it would go through the wood without "Burning" a hole. There is simply no DRILLING quality to it and there is barely a thread cutter tip. Fortunately for me, my holes are already drilled and threaded so all I need to do is use one of the new screws to thread through each hole prior to installing the wood so that I can 1) make sure they fit and match the threads and 2) ream out any rust debri while I can see what I'm doing before the wood covers the view. There is a differnce between these and the old screws in that there is much less of a cutting tip on these and the cutting end is not beveled to make it insert into the hole easier. I tried one screw in two holes and it worked fine in both. On the positive side the box comes with it's own T-30 torx bit so there is no need to run to the store to buy one or order from the Big A. I had read that in other reviews and was expecting to find one of those short little stubby bits you get from the big box stores with a box of screws. To my surprise, this is a full sized bit with a collar to fit and lock into a driver or drill chuck. That's worth a lot to me. Just to be sure, I used my kitchen digital scale and the 1lb box weighed 16.55 ounzes without the torx bit. I was thinking that perhaps they took out a couple of screws to offset for the weight of the bit. But with the bit, the weight was 17.0 ounces. So it is indeed a bonus not a trade. No problem with installation after replacing 7 boards with 4 screws each. Would I purchase these again when needed - Yes! Would I reccomend these to others - Yes for this purpose ... show more

  • Perfect for replacement decking.
Needed to put new pressure treated decking on my utitly trailer. Work great after drilling the proper sized pilot hole. My only thing is that I had to look up on the web what size bit to use first. Should be marked on box or description. Let's see in a couple years how it stands up to rain.
