The cab of this crane truck is indeed metal, as advertised, but most of the rest of the truck is plastic. It makes loud clicking noises as the crane moves, but everything is functional, operational, and, most importantly, absolutely mindblowingly exciting to a three year old boy. Love the little attention to detail this truck has with opening doors and such. The hose does squirt a pretty good distance so be prepared for some watery messes. Also a bit noisy like most fire trucks are. Kids love it because of the hose and noises alone but may get a little annoying for parents lol. 100/100 This is NOT a remote controlled (RC) vehicle. It’s an old fashioned “kid-powered” truck. Nothing wrong with that, in fact, it’s refreshing to see. This truck DOES have some electronic augmentation. When the front wheels are pressed down, it has lights that flash and makes “fire truck sounds”. Not essential for play, but a fun addition. It also has a functional water pumper . . . parents beware. Depending on how responsible your child is, this may or may not be a good thing. Only you know your child. Be forewarned. It arrives VERY well secured in it’s box so also be prepared to take a few minutes removing it before it can be played with. You also have to remove a battery tab to activate the lights and sounds. I can’t imagine any child that wouldn’t love to have this in their vehicle fleet. Ultimately, are they worth the price? Yes ... show more
