Decided to buy this poncho for my surfing. I’m 6ft and it’s large enough for me to comfortable change in. My wife has used it at the beach and it fits her as well, and she’s 5.2ft. I’d say it’s definitely suitable for people of different sizes and postures. I don’t know how they did it, but the fabric really does feel a bit like cotton. It’s soft to touch and definitely dries quickly. Sometimes I go out for a second session in the afternoon, and the poncho’s already dry by then and ready to be used again. Absolutely amazing! The fabric is nice and thick, so it also works well as a robe to keep me warm. I also like that this poncho has actual sleeves instead of just arm holes. It provides more coverage when changing, something my wife especially likes. She's practically claimed it as her own, so looks like I might need to buy another one! To summarize, I’d say that this is a high quality and well thought out product, and I’d definitely recommend it. ... show more

Vine reviewer here giving you my honest hands-on review and inspection of the product you are considering. This poncho is huge - which is exactly what you need when trying to change at the beach. I will take it with me to the beach, but I will use it when I get out of the spa or pool and don't want to trapse through the house wet. I like that it is made with thick terrycloth, basically it is one giant sized towel. This will also work well at night, when we do a little night swimming and sit by the fire. From my wife: I was so happy to find this on Vine. I’m an open water swimmer and we like to start in early spring and continue well into fall. (bravo to those who swim year round!) I wanted a changing robe for the cooler seasons. This fits the bill perfectly. It is roomy enough and long enough to change with privacy. It’s made of microfiber, so you dry yourself off and stay cozy at the same time. The hood fits nicely and also is cozy. It’s well made with no loose threads or crooked seams. The colored binding adds a classy touch. My only wish is that they offered it colors besides black, but I don’t subtract stars for that. I also find that a zippered front would easier to get into due to cranky shoulders, but this is not an issue for everyone. ... show more

I found this Hang 11 Surf Poncho to definitely be the ultimate Poncho and Towel but not necessarily changing robe. I am 5’8 1/2” and in the 190’s weight. The poncho was nice and long on me hitting me at the ankles and was roomy in that it would fit comfortably over swim and surf wear. I did not however find it roomy enough to comfortably do complete change maneuvers underneath. A thinner person, perhaps who typically wears a small or medium could very well have a different experience. That said, the material felt well suited to good water absorption and it was so warm and comfy overall, that I didn’t really want to take it off once I put it on. As a general swim/surf/beach coverup it’s a definite recommendation. ... show more

This surf poncho is awesome. Very warm and roomy and made of thick, soft microfiber. Features a hood and a large kangaroo pocket on the front. The color design is simple so it’s suitable for any gender. This is a microfiber poncho, so keep that in mind if you're someone who doesn’t like the feel of microfiber. The poncho has short arms on it as opposed to being sleeveless, which adds a little bit of warmth on cooler days. I am 5’3 and 170lbs and it fits on me but is pretty long, with lots of room on the sides. For someone taller or heftier it would still be a really good fit. If you are much shorter or very petite the sizing might be too large for you. Definitely room to wear a wet suit underneath or to change in when your done at the beach or pool. This thing is big and fluffy and handy. I actually got it primarily not to use at the beach, but because I recently moved to a new cubicle at work which I find to be just a little too cold in the morning. I had been fantasizing about having a hooded blanket I could throw on which would be warm but not hot. This does the trick! Yes I look insane with this on over my clothes at work, but I'm hidden from general view so I'm not too worried about it 🙂 I'm a 5'5" woman and when I'm standing, the hem falls about mid-calf but when I'm seated, it's the perfect length to cover my legs without dragging on the ground. And I'm excited to also be able to use this as a swimsuit changing cover once it's beach season again, since it seems like it will work perfectly for that. It is a bit bulky - it takes up the space of two towels. But I have no doubt it will become an essential part of my beach trips as both a changing station and post-swim robe. ... show more

The material is pretty heavy, kind of like a very heavy beach towel with a lining. But very comfortable to the skin and definitely effective for wicking moisture and drying you off. It's a smart design that has plenty of room to throw it on and change underneath while standing. Makes it very convenient to change out of swimming trunks or a wetsuit without the privacy of a changing room or a bathroom.
