I remember when I was in middle school, on my period & always checking in the bathroom to see if I had leaked and if I had thru my clothes, going home to change or just going home out of embarrassement. These work great and they are comfortable. Size 12 for an 11 year old at average weight fits well, super comfortable. This was her first and I taught her about all the options for handling it but she chose this underwear. She’s all about underwear not giving her wedgies that I’ve had to give away new, perfectly good, regular underwear because she doesn’t like them 🤦♀️. But these? She says they are comfortable and she’s been wearing them even after her period has already ended. She says it’s because she’s still worried it’ll come back; either way, she likes them and so I bought more. We’ve only gone through the first cycle but with this underwear, it was a complete success- not one leak. She wears jeans all the time so the black underwear doesn’t affect what she’s wearing. I like these because the material is cotton, which my skin is very sensitive to other materials most period underwear was made of, but these are great. Still quite stretchy, and good size. I initially purchased a different brand for my daughter. They were very expensive and VERY BULKY. She was always self conscious. As soon as I got these I washed and dried them. They shrunk a little bit, but she needed that. They are not bulky at all. She says they are very comfortable. As for leak prevention I haven’t gotten feedback so far. They work great my daughter has a disability an my other daughter just started getting her period. So between them both they work great for two different reasons. My daughter has a hard time remembering too go to the bathroom and cause of her disability she she can't always hold it so these with a think pad on do the job an make my life easier so I'm not going through underwear an pants so much for her. Also part of her condition. But for both my girls they work great compared to the other ones we have tried. There true to size one of them is a 14/16 (XL) an one is 10/12 (L) sometimes a medium. The protection seem on the underwear is visible under clothing and not flattering. The seem does not go fully up in the back. It goes a little less than halfway up, so you can visibly see the protection layer. They work well and fit well, but it is quite noticeable under pants.
