These are so great! Montana football mama here. These are a lifesaver! To turn on, you simply hold the red button until the lights come on. To change level of heat, you press the red button, There are three levels and the highest is pretty hot. Perfect for the snowy days. The only part that heats up is the blue part so its not two sided heat but you can clip them together. I bought a second pair and intend to keep them clipped together in my pockets, because I'm extra cold! As recommended, I used them as received until the batteries fully ran out, and then charged them USB. Charging took a few hours, but they worked as expected after. They are too hot to touch for long above the the 1 out of 3 setting. If you want to hold them in your hand, they are too small to warm all 4 fingers at once (I'm female with average hand size.) I have used these a few times and they work great. I like that you can take them apart - I can give one to each of my kids or stick them in my pockets. These hand warmers work really well. Personally I still prefer the ones that are cylindrical in shape and especially the ones that double as a flashlight. However, these do still work well and do will keep your hands warm for long stretches of time.

I bought this handwarmer because I wanted something smaller that would fit inside mittens. The handwarmer can be used as one single device or split into two, one for each hand. I really like that capability but note, if you have them separated, the flat side is not warm. However, if you have the two halves together as one, the device is more rounded and the whole device is warm. Separated, the hand warmers are small enough that I can wear them inside my mittens, or share them with the kids when we’re hiking, sledding or ice-skating. We went to Alaska and we were outside a lot. These came in handy for walking with reindeer, inspecting glaciers, waiting for the aurora at the artic circle, and just playing in the deep perfect snow. My 7 year old has a low tolerance for cold. They slipped right into the pocket of her gloves or sometimes we needed to slip them between her mittens and gloves. She would not have enjoyed her time outside at all if we didn't have these for her. They definitely did not last 16 hours for sure. We maybe got about 2-3 hrs of warmth at a time from them. But my understanding is that in very cold weather batteries drain faster. But that's kinda the point of having these in the first place. She will be able to use these again for skiing this season so maybe she'll make it a full session before running back inside to warm up her poor frozen hands. These hand warmers are designed to fit together. They snap together smoothly and are easy to pull apart. The highest heat setting was a little too warm for me. The three heat settings have visual markers (tiny lights show which setting you are on). I love the rounded shape and that these are small and fit my hand perfectly. The instructions are clear and easy to understand. the hand warmers designed to look like beetles. The eyes light up (blue) when you change settings. The power/settings button is soft and a decent size. Easy enough that you could turn them on without looking and they heat up very quickly. (Maybe they’re lightning bugs? They do heat fast.) The designers put some thought into these. The charging cord is dual-headed so you can charge both at once. The packaging is elegant and the container is suitable for storing them in when you’re not using them. The box even has a lovely message: May the warmth and happiness be yours today and always. I use them indoors. My workspace is a little cool and my hands don’t circulate like they used to, so they’re perfect in the mornings to hold in between bouts of typing. And these give you fewer calories than you get from warming your hands with a mug of hot cocoa. When I got them, I had covid (managed to avoid it until fall of 2023 at least), and I had a sore throat that felt like I’d swallowed a barbed wire fence that had been dipped in acid. I got some relief by tucking the joined hand warmers under my chin for a few moments at a time. I kind of like everything about these, including the color. The ones I got are orange, which makes them look warm. If you want to warm your hands separately, I recommend getting a second pair. They don’t feel as nice when used individually—they’re intended to be joined, I think. ... show more
