I have been collecting vintage pocket watches for several years, only American vintage, mostly Rockford Pocket Watches but as my collection became complete, I purchased a couple Hamilton Pocket Watches. And in my love of American Made Historic time pieces, I came across the story of THE HAMILTON ELECTRIC WATCH. In 1957 the world’s first electric watch appeared and production continued until 1969 when quartz movements made the movements obsolete. But it is those futuristic case designs that Richard Arbib was responsible for that make them so sought after today. So I started looking for vintage Ventura's and you can shell out nearly a $1,000 for a watch that is project and nearly $10,000 for one that has been made like new. But Hamilton offered over the years to upgrade the old Electrics with new Quartz movements so many vintage watch have newer movements. In my research I found out Hamilton did a reissue of the watch some time ago and with Men in Black movies they brought it back again. So you can get a true Hamilton Ventura.......for under $600 on ebay. BUT YOU CAN ALSO BUY FAKES FOR MUCH LESS ON THE INTERNET. I have chosen to use Amazon Prime to hopefully send me to a retailer, Savvy Watch, which sells authentic watches. BUT YOU ARE NOT GOING TO GET THE LOW PRICE FROM THE HAMILTON WEBSITE OR AN AUTHORIZED DEALER...THEY ARE NEARLY $900. I went to our local Hamilton Dealer and looked at their Venturas and I am almost positive that I was sold a genuine Hamilton Ventura BUT FOR THE LOWER PRICE YOU SACRIFICE HAMILTONS WARRANTY....which brings me to what made me worry about all this in the first place. HERE IS WHAT THE HAMILTON WEBSITE SAYS.... "The Hamilton Warranty is exclusively for customers who bought their Hamilton watches through an authorized Hamilton retailer or through this official Hamilton e-commerce store. Any Hamilton watch bought from a non-authorized dealer, particularly over the internet, may be counterfeit, stolen, or defective. Therefore Hamilton declines all responsibility." SAVVY DOES GIVE YOU A WARRANTY THOUGH. Now onto the watch....ELVIS WORE ONE, ROD SERLING ....twilight zone fame, JFK.....DID TO......SO IF THESE ICONS OF STYLE WHO COULD AFFORD AND CHOOSE ANY WATCH CHOSE A HAMILTON VENTURA THEN REST ASSURED THAT YOU ARE BUYING A PERSONAL STYLE STATEMENT WHICH WILL NEVER GO OUT OF STYLE.     • Finally, I have a Hamilton Ventura
Let's get this out of the way; one complaint is the wrist band. Troublesome to release and reclose. But I plan to replace it. Since being a little boy I've been aware of this beautiful, triangular timepiece. I began to shop for one several years ago but found the price prohibitive. Oh, I was tortured, especially by seeing variations, all eye catching. I learned about the brand sale to the Swiss firm. Fascinating, but their products were still well out of reach for me. But repeated searches led me back to Amazon, where I found this one, just what I'd been wishing for, at a deep discount. A slight budget stretch, but I convinced myself it was do-able. And it IS! With a quartz movement, its accuracy is pretty much guaranteed. The design? The most attractive, ever, in my opinion. Stainless steel is always my first choice, from appliances to jewelry. The compliments have been good to hear, and every glance at it gives me a surge of satisfaction. Thanks to Amazon and the seller who made this possible. ... show more

I have wanted a Ventura for a long time and finally pulled the trigger on one. While the asymmetrical face shape and retro history of this watch may not be what some are looking for, those are two of the reasons that I like this watch. Although I have only had it a short time, it appears to be very well made. Before purchasing the Ventura, I researched the history of both Hamilton watches and the Ventura model. Very interesting reading, and if you are interested in a Ventura, I suggest reading up on both the company and the watch. I love this watch, it is retro, yet functional. It is very stylish in it's own way, being out of the circular or rectangular watch face box. Oh, yeah, and it keeps accurate time!!     • Impressive watch with incorrect instruction manual
The watch came well packaged, and arrived on time. The watch is exquisite, and looked even better than the picture. The watch was a gift, and the recipient was thrilled and extremely happy with the watch. The only downside was that the instructions included with the watch were not the correct instructions for the watch received. Additionally, it was necessary to watch a YouTube video to figure out how to work the watch clasp. Having received the appropriate instruction manual would have been helpful. Also, we aren't sure whether the watch is self winding or battery operated. It will be necessary to try to find an online manual for the watch. ... show more

I thought I would provide some photos and details of the watch that may help others decide. I received the correct men’s watch, Hamilton H24411732. My watch measures the same as the item listed on the Hamilton website, 32.3mm x 50.3mm. This is not the women’s model as some others have suggested. That is model H24211732, measuring 24mm x 36.5mm. I believe what throws people off is the stated 50.3mm dimension, which includes the decorative “wings” on the case. When people read “50mm” they are likely expecting a larger, modern dinner plate style watch. I’ve included photos showing the Ventura next to a Seiko 5 (SNK809) for a relative size comparison. My wrist measures a shade over 7” and I am squarely in the middle of the adjustment range. I have 4 holes left for tightening and 3 holes remaining to loosen. If you are looking for a large modern-sized watch you will be disappointed and should consider the Ventura XXL variants. If you are familiar with vintage watch scale and/or looking for a watch that feels and wears like a 38mm, you will be very pleased. ... show more
