The coconut fiber was exactly as advertised & seemed fine upon arrival. Nothing wrong with it in those aspects, but just a couple days after putting it in my tank I had fruit flies all of a sudden. I have a completely sealed lid to my crabitat & have never had this issue before. I removed the fiber right away. Did a big sweep/ clean of my tank & haven't had the issue since. Was great but was unsure if I could clean it up my Bearded Dragan wasn't really a fan of it his feet kept getting caught in it but it was less messy than the sand he did have made him comfortable the past few days of his life thank you.

My hermit crab Shelley LOVES this stuff! She climbs all over it and likes to pull some of the coconut “fibers” apart. It’s a fun, a enriching addition for her tank. It also holds a little bit of moisture which can help with maintaining humidity. It’s a little tough to cut in shape but do-able with scissors and well worth it. I dispose of it when I deep clean her tank four times a year and replace it. Would definitely recommend! 🦀 ... show more

    • Nice but may be abrasive
This was nice and added insulation but I was worried that it was abrasive for my delicate gecko so I took it out. I would prefer softer bedding. I’m going back to paper towels for now.

I was looking for something I could use to make a roof for a birdhouse. I tried jute but that was too time consuming. When I found this I thought it would be perfect. No complaint here. My turtle seems comfortable on it. I have it in my diy basking area. Good size. I actually cut off a good bit to fit it in the crate. Update. It started to shred and float in the water. So eventually you’ll have to change it. It was good while it lasted. Now I use thick green Felt

I have this in the above tank basking area for my RES. And it works great. Was very easy to trim to size. She did scratch at it out of curiosity the first few days which made a mess in the water below, but not a problem after that.
