Features

  • Coconut Chips Substrate: You will get 10LB natural coconut chips bricks. Our coco husk substrate is perfect for your reptiles, it can provide a clean and healthy environment for them. The coconut husk are also great for houseplants, terrariums, mushroom substrate and plant propagation.
  • Natural Coco Husk: The reptile substrate is made from coco coir husk, which is 100% natural, low EC value, dust-free and no odors. Compressed to bricks to less the volume, so it easy to store. When soak it to the water, it expands a lot.
  • Great Water Retention: Our coco coir snake bedding is a nice, small size for reptile tank and soaks up to a very spongey, water retaining medium. It can be wrung out to stay damp without being soaked and still allows free draining. It will be great for moisture regulation. It is a good base layer for the bottom of a reptile cage.
  • How to Use: First, place the reptile substrate in a container, then add water to the container (the amount of water will depend on the humidity you want) so that the coco husk brick absorbs the water until it is fully expanded, and it is ready to use. Great for ball python enclosure, tortoise table, frog, hermit crab, gecko and orther bioactive setups.
  • Healthy Living Environment: The coconut husk provides a soft and natural surface that mimics the reptiles' natural habitats, adds some texture and enrichment to the reptiles' living environment, leading to a happier and healthier captive life.

  • I'm happy with it
Color: 10LB-1pack
The price is right and it seems just fine. About a 50/50 mix of chips and fiber. I'm using it for my ball pythons and boa imperator. I like this style of bedding far more than that dusty coco coir. I'll continue ordering.

  • As expected
Color: 10LB-1pack
It's needing for my iguana. Does its job soaking up any bits of extra water. Keeps any smells down, I change it once a week and it lasts for a bit. I use a thin coat on the flooring.

  • Nice block of coco!
Color: 10LB-1pack
Not much to say about this, it's a large block of dried woodchip substrate for reptiles and invertebrates. Chip off some of the block and soak it in water to let it expand a bit. I have used this for various reptiles as well as in a custom substrate mix for various types of isopods. Very happy!

  • Coconut husk substrate
Color: 10LB-1pack
So we took some substrate out and soaked in some water. My son decided to bot use this for his bearded dragon. He says he didn't want it for him because there are too many edges and it looks painful to walk on. I disagreed with him but its his dragon. This coconut husk material will be great for my daughter's python. He already lives in something like this so he will be happy to have a fresh clean bed. You get a lot for the money. Looks nice to me. ... show more

  • Great substrate
Color: 10LB-1pack
Ordered these chips for experimenting with growing mushrooms in addition to other substrates we've tried. You get 10lb in a densely packed cube. It's a lot and very good quality. Definitely recommended.

  • Good for Alternative Uses
Color: 10LB-1pack
We use this type of coco coir chips for hydroponic substrate in some experimental systems we run (primarily in buckets), and this package has great expansion and moisture retention. I'm sure it's likely fine for it's intended pet uses as well, but in our experience, there's not usually much difference in one "type" of coco coir from another, other than price and/or packaging. Happy with this product for our uses. ... show more

  • Be careful!
Color: 10LB-1pack
When I ordered this, I was excited to use it. But once we opened it up- there was small pieces of plastic throughout the entire block. So we had to be extra careful as we were putting it into our snakes tank. I would not recommend this to anyone.

  • Disappointed
Color: 2 Pack
The media could not be loaded. After seeing all the raving reviews I thought I’d give this a wirl. I make my own soiless mixture and needed coco chips. I had previously bought a different brand and was happy with it but it wasn’t available so I got this thinking it would be more chunky and have more chips, like in the pictures. Turns out the pictures are very misleading. It’s very shredded up and doesn’t have a whole lot of chips. I’m going to have to buy something else for my mixture. ... show more
