  • Works well!
I bought it to dry ski boots and now use it to dry kid shoes nearly every week. Works well and turns itself off. I only wish that, now that the weather is hot, I could use it to just blow air without adding heat.

  • Loses a ton of heat when extending the arms
As the pics show, these tubes are quite bendy and flexible and hold their position well. That's neat, especially since this has to be laying down Luxuries side up - assumedly to avoid any water dripping into the unit. There isn't anything but open holes where the arms screw into... so any fluids or solids will drop what looked like right into the fans or the element... so /that/ is a bit worrisome, buuut, just don't do that and you'll be fine... probably. I screwed in the arms and plugged this in - no shoes - after messing with the arms some to feel out how they bend and work. Left one as pictured and the other fully compressed, also pictured. It took about 10ish seconds to start feeling warm air from the compressed one. By time I could feel /any/ air from the extended one, the compressed one was nice and toasty. It took a few mins before the extended one felt as warm, but the air flow was still way weaker than the compressed one. So, makes sense I guess. Just means that sadly the two arms are sharing the same fan(s), so the longer the arms are the more room to cool down in the tubes the air has and ultimately the less pressure there is coming out of the end. Also means we're losing some pressure and heat from the air that's just being blasted into the inside of the shell around the tubes =/ SOME sort of particle barrier and better airflow control and/or fans closer to the arm holes would've done a lot for this thing. Really verbose way of saying, keep the arms short as possible to heat/warm/dry stuff faster. Scent? Odd one, but yeah, doesn't really have one. New plasticy kinda smell of course, but the element inside didn't give off any smells or anything. I reckon this will change once those heads end up in some boots though D: This wasn't too expensive, and I'm not sad to have gotten it. It'll work, and it's flexible enough to say dry a glove and a shoe if didn't get both wet for example. The arms won't hold weight, but they're clearly designed to slip into shoes/boots that are resting on the ground normally. This is definitely better than what we had to do: try to balance stuff by the heating registers or pray all that clunking in the dryer isn't breaking anything! ... show more

  • Works good for price point
Bought as a gift ... Actually I ordered 2 this a second from another brand that was a bit for expensive and this one is much better than the more expensive upright boot dryer... My husband works 12 hrs in boots and these dry fast ,very quite to no noise , and is compact. I feel they combat oder and seem to dry fast ... I always use the 5 hr setting but never takes that long to fully dry ! ... show more

  • Works as advertised
I really don't like the wet day, it made my shoes shoes were wet long time and stinky, and I have to work every day with it. When I saw this machine, I get one and try. After I try, it works as advertised, did the dry work for my shoes everytime I use. I really like the timer, when I slected 3 hours work, and this machine really work 3 hours. ... show more

  • Good for drying out wet soccer cleats
Easy to set up and use. Dries out wet soccer cleats quickly in 20-30 minutes, but the shortest timer is for 1 hour. Fairly quiet when running.

  • Small and portable, but not high powered
This little shoe dryer takes up very little space compared to other shoe dryers. It is lightweight as well, and can easily be taken apart to store. The hoses that come out from the air pump to put into your boots are flexible and stretchable as well, make it easy to slip them inside the boots, as the boots sit on the floor. The air pump, inside, however, is not very strong. The little holes on the end of each hose constrict the air movement quite a bit, which would not be the case if the pump was stronger. Because it's not, the warm air movement is slight and not as robust as one would hope. I put a pair of damp insulated leather gloves on to see how it would work with gloves, and after 30 minutes the fingertips inside the gloves were still cold--and definitely still damp. None of the hot air was reaching the fingertips because there just wasn't enough air pressure. We'll still use it for boots and such, because it is pretty quiet when it is running, but we'll go back to putting wet gloves on the radiator to dry them out. ... show more
