I got this for my daughter as a Valentine’s Day present (she’s 21 months) and it’s the one thing that has to go everywhere! It’s been washed a few times and isn’t showing any wear yet (1 month in)! I gave this plush to my 5 month old neice. I like that it's eyes were not the plastic eyes. I washed it before giving it to her, using the tag directions. The plush stayed just as soft and the water squeezed out pretty quickly. I let it air dry over night and then threw it in the dryer just to make sure it was completely dry and to kill off whatever germs I could. My neice loved it. It's soft, and light, and very huggable. I just love this GUND Big Bird. It's the perfect size for my 1.5 year old. He watches Sesame Street every day and indicates he wants to by saying what sounds like "Abba" (Elmo). He is just starting to learn the names of the other major characters and only in the last few weeks has he started identifying Big Bird ("Bee-boo") and Cookie Monster ("Cookie"). Quality is as expected from GUND, which is to say, top-notch. I am a happy dad. We keep this Big Bird in the bedroom. It's soft and plushy with no parts that are hard and can poke if slept on. I bought this for a friend for her birthday. This was the perfect gift. The size was great it was soft and was the perfect size. You can even sleep with it without it taking up space.
