    • Good... with caveats
I got these for $25, so I wasn't expecting much. At $60 Id expect a lot more. The good: Clear, fairly good contrast images Very lightweight (lots of plastic) High magnification Wide field of view Comfortable twist-up eye cups and captive lens caps; modern features still absent on many higher end binoculars. The bad: Significant field curvature. The nearer the target, the worse the distortion; a telephone pole across the street will be straight in the center of the field of view, but becomes increasing 'bent', the nearer to the edge of view. On distant targets, beyond a few hundred meters, it wouldn't be noticable to most people. Lots of plastic. It doesn't affect the performance, but will affect durability Challenging to get the interpupillary distance adjusted correctly and has significant field blackouts, unless your eye is just exactly the right distance from the eyepiece. This is remedied by gaining some experience with them. Poorly suited for low light. A Human eye dilates to around 7mm. Thus, the ideal 'exit pupil'(size of the light cone coming out of the eyepiece, into your eye) is 7mm. The exit pupil can be approximated by dividing the the aperture (the big lens) by the magnification - 42/12 gives an exit pupil of 3.5mm. So, while this is adequate for daytime and still useful for nighttime, they will produce disappointingly dim low light images and are quite poor for astronomy; for night use, 7x50/8x56 is ideal. Overall, its a matter of application and expectation management. I don't think I'd find any use for them at $60. At $25 they would be great for sports, hunting, casual birdwatching or other casual observation. For astronomy, or other demanding applications, they're going to perform poorly. ... show more

    • A great pair of binoculars
I ordered these binoculars for myself and a friend to use while birding. We are beginners, so we needed something easy to use. This pair of binoculars has been great; they are convenient and compact while still providing lots of great views of birds and their friends.

Nice looking binos. Decent view. Dimmer than 8x25s! But then, for 30 bucks, what can you expect! Good for camping trips where you might worry about messing up your expensive ones.

    • Glasses great
The glasses are great, good vision easy adjustment comes with lens covers for all 4 lens. The attachment for phone is useless, in most cases it would only work if set up on a tripod on a fixed object, there is no way you can attach phone and take a picture quickly because the phone adapter takes up one lens and you won't be able to site something and get it in frame on phone and push button to take a photo quickly, in most instances by time you do all this subject is gone, might work for flowers diffinitly not for wildlife. but the glasses themselves are worth the price I tossed the adapter and and still happy with price ... show more

I think these binoculars will do just what I am looking for. They have been easy to use (without reading the directions), and will suit my needs perfectly. After visiting 2 National parks I have decided that I want a better view at the next. I’m no professional, just for fun.

So far works as expected but haven’t used them much yet. Seem sturdy as the phone adapter works for me with a normal sized iPhone. I could see it not working for larger phones though.
