  • A bit of a struggle to install but work as advertised
I had a bit of trouble to install the and use the diagnostic tool on the first time. It was not detected on the wifi. But after I sorted out the trouble, everything worked fine and the tool works as advertised.

  • A must have if you ride a OBDII type bike.
It works good, and although there are more reasonable solutions, this one is just rock solid. The transponder is a little big and I have to use a OBDII extension cord if I want real time riding data ... but that is a small thing .. I don't have time to look at a screen while riding anyway :)

  • For my 2022 BMW R1250 GS
I use a cheap 433 MHz wake up tool bought on Amazon for waking up the TPMS sensors in my 2022 BMW R1250 GS motorcycle wheels which allows me to use the GS-911 Programmer to add the sensors to the bike's computer. Makes swapping wheels between 80/20 street oriented tires on factory cast aluminum rims and 40/60 off-road oriented knobby tires on Woody's spoke rims very easy in my garage. Also great for reading and resetting fault codes either with a laptop in the garage or with a smartphone on the trails. During the 2022 model production of the R1250 GS/A, BMW switched to new supplier for TPMS, which is now controlled by the Keyless ECU instead of the TPMS ECU. Even though the TPMS ECU is still listed, if you have the new controller you will receive an error message that the TPMS ECU is not communicating with the GS-911. But if you go through the Keyless ECU Service Functions, you will be able to see and select the new XSLZ03 which takes you right to the TMPS Learning Functions. The menu selections and the lack of online intuitive prompts/directions is why I dropped the Ease of Use down to only 4 Stars. Also, it would be absolutely wonderful if the software had the capability to store two separate sets of Sensor ID's to more easily facilitate swapping between two sets of wheels, as many folks do. Those are the only two Cons that I have. ... show more

  • Saves money
Everything about a BMW is expensive. I bought the USB/WiFi model so you can use it over home WiFi or a Direct setting on laptops or Tablet. Direct means you log onto its own SSID on the 911. That was the easiest connection and how I probably will use it. Just the ability to reset an service light is worth the money. I had a question and support was responsive. ... show more

  • Good hardware plagued by terrible software
The device is reasonably well made, and ultimately does what it's supposed to do, but the software is awful. It looks like a mechanical engineer designed both the device and the software. If you're thinking of using the D2D (device to device) to connect directly to your smartphone without wifi, keep in mind that the only thing you can do is read and clear fault codes, nothing else, like resetting the service light or the computer date, or updating (even if your phone has data service). So if you work on your bike where you don't have wifi, remember to bring your laptop. In order to set up the program on the laptop, you need wifi and the device has to be plugged in, so this step must be done in advance somewhere that you have internet. Once you get it working, the interface is terribly klunky and unintuitive, but all the information is there. For example, to reset you service light, you have to go through the menu to find your bike's engine (i.e. R series > R1200RT, etc) to get to this option, despite having scanned the bike and the device knowing the exact model and vin already. All that said, it might save you from being stranded on long trip if you can clear a fault code or recognize one that lets you keep riding or you can fix, so its worth bringing along with your roadside tool kit. As far as price: yes it's expensive, but that's what you signed up for when you bought a BMW. I have a great BMW motorrad dealership, but they charge $100 to run the computer and clear codes and service light, so this thing will pay for itself pretty quickly. ... show more

  • Pricey but worth it!! 2019 R 1250 GS Adventure
Little quick story.. I bought a new 2019 BMW R 1250 GS Adventure. I took it in to the dealership for the first service at 750 miles and received a bill for $325 dollars for the service, which was a oil change, final drive oil change and basically some other things like voltage checks etc. When I got the bike home I noticed that the oil was over filled, I had to drain about a half of quart out to bring it to the top of the site gauge. I knew then, that I would be doing the maintenance on my bike. Received the GS911 today and had it up and running in just a few minutes. You need to follow the directions and its quite simple. The is a wealth of information and things you can do with this. My first thing I want to do was reset the service light. You can set the quantity of miles and dates however you would like. I set my for 4000 miles and a year just to remind me to change the oil if I forget. I didn't have any codes nor any that needed cleared, but I see how easy it will be to identify and do. I did look at all of the information it shows you and was quite amazed. Voltages, temperatures, switch positions and so much more. I will be using it for the brake flush after my year is complete. It may take a while to pay for itself, but I definitely feel its worth the expense. ... show more
