We have a dog run behind our house and we’ve used several different types of artificial turf over the years. Before this, all had the black plastic backing with holes drilled in it, for drainage. All developed a smell after the first year or two, from dog urine, during the warm summer months. I bought the 4x13 roll because it was the perfect size for the back of the dog run. So now I have half the area covered with an old (rather cheap) 1 inch artificial turf with black plastic backing, followed by this new 1.5 inch turf with the lighter white cloth like backing. I’m pleasantly surprised with the roll I received. It was very easy to lift, carry, and put down. It feels plush and nice to walk on. The older turf makes a crunching noise when I walk on it. Crunch, crunch, crunch. It feels like I’m walking on plastic. This new turf, is very quiet and it feels like I’m walking on a soft carpet. Is it like real grass? Of course not. Does it get hot when it is in the direct sun? Of course it does. It’s artificial turf, but in the shade, or filtered sun, it is really nice. It makes me want to fling off my sandals and walk barefoot on it. So far, I really like this product. I’ve included a photo of the turf in filtered sunshine. ... show more

This grass rug is huge. Came rolled up and packaged well in plastic. I like than when you open it and unroll there are no lines in the rug. Most of these type come folded and you can never get the fold lines out. This is great for a patio or outdoor dog run. Good artifical Grass... keeping it in the garage and using it around in there. Soft. I don't like artifical grass outside personally, because heat index is higher. But would work well outside too
