  • Common sense + following instructions = Perfection!
Style: Coffee Maker
I have seen several reviews on various websites that complain about this product, it obvious most of those reviewers didn't follow the instructions or do enough. There are some really good videos that can be found to show you how to use this if you learn best that way; I also found a really bad video that depicts how to use it. 1. Find some food grade lubricant and apply it to the "O" rings, anybody that is familiar with these knows that they will rip. Do NOT use petroleum jelly, it will dissolve the seals. 2. You CANNOT carbonate a warm liquid, it has to be ice cold to work well. 3. Buy a mason jar type cold coffee brewer with a stainless steel filter. It will save you a lot of time and money. Cold brew your coffee and add to this unit. You can have cold brew and nitro brew always ready. 4. Make sure the valve is in the OFF position when you add the Nitrous Oxide cartridge. If you don't as soon as you screw it into the injection cover, the gas will be gone into the air. 5. Add cold brew to MAX FILL line (it's inside), add cartridge to holder and screw into lid (don't over tighten), screw cover on unit (again don't overtighten), turn to INFUSE and shake for 1-2 minutes, turn valve to DISPENSE, and enjoy!! It's that simple. 6. You can leave it in DISPENSE mode when you put it in refrigerator between uses or you can place it in INFUSE mode. Infuse mode may over carbonate it. If you leave it in Infuse mode and shake it again, you will have nothing but foam. I read dozens of reviews and questions to research the difference between using Nitrogen and Nitrous Oxide; most Nitro brewers use one or the other, I even found a couple that can use either. From what I read some people claim that pure Nitrogen may add a sweet taste and a cascading creamy texture, while some people claim that Nitrous Oxide makes it more "fizzy" and "foamy". GrowlerWerks seem to have perfected the spout so that using Nitrous Oxide cartridges not only provides this creamy cascading texture but you can carbonate, dispense, and clean the unit with a single 16 gram cartridge. ... show more

  • Cute, Clever Nitro Cold Brew Maker
Style: Coffee Maker
I've worked in the coffee industry for a +10 years. I love when a company creates a machine that allows me to enjoy my favorites in-home. What I enjoyed: 1. Sleek Design I love the black chrome finish; I'm not bougie, but it sure does look nice in my fridge. On that note, it fits in the fridge, which means it's surprisingly compact. The valves and gauges are user-friendly. 2. Frothy, Delicious Pour I used a single-origin Ethiopian bean for my first batch. I prefer African beans, as the have a bright, floral finish that lends itself to the quintessential crispness of iced coffee. The pour was super frothy at first, but the nitro-bubbles relaxed leaving a perfectly foamy head. Delightfully creamy mouthfeel. 3. Simple Instructions It is a several step process before you enjoy the nitro-infused goodness, but the instructions are easy to follow. 4. Overall... it's great My personal take is, we enjoy our food more when we have a relationship to it. Being a coffee dork, I like getting into the process of creating unique flavors, textures, and artisanal/foodie experiences. This GrowlerWerks product scratches my itch for both the art and science of making really freaking good cold brew. ... show more

  • make good nitro cold brew coffee
Style: Coffee Maker
i saw a friend had this the other day. i tried it myself and love it very much. some tips to use this: 1. it takes 16 gram cartilage. they are hard to find and cost more. most you see n2o cartilage for sale are made for whipping cream dispensers. those do not list their weight are either 2 , 4 or 8 grams version. 2. this keg takes internal cartilage. once inserted, you can add more pressure. so you have use the 16 g cartilage for a single batch. 3. shake it hard! turn the knob on infused and shake the devils out it! you will get a very nice head when pouring the brew out. 4. make a large batch of the cold brew. 1/2 gallons at a time. use very coarse grinds possible about 148 grams of coffee add 7 cups of cold filtered water. brew for 12 hours in frig. filter the coffee after with fine mesh to remove any grains. add the brew into the keg, add the gas. close the lid. store in frig and let it in fuses for over 10 hours. shake it and serve! ... show more

  • I use it daily
Style: Coffee Maker
The only time I've ever got the foam is after leaving it in infuse for 3+ days or in the last glass poured and it goes away pretty quicly. That being said, the taste is still good. I steep closer to the top fill line before adding the filters, otherwise, the result is too weak but that is personal preference. If you are going through all the effort of making cold brew in this and the cost of the N02 get quality coffee. I purchased official N02 cartridges as well as some cheaper Bestwhip N02 cartridges from ebay and cant tell the difference. Despite my minor complaints, I don't regret the purchase. Dont expect to see results like the pictures. ... show more

  • Terribly disappointed by the terrible nitro
Style: Coffee Maker
So disappointed in this product. Our Ukeg growler dispenses beer nicely but this product is terrible. Coffee is tasteless, dispenses in a trickle with no foam. We bought it in 2022. I just thought I wasn’t using it right. The handful of times we tried it the coffee was terrible. We were so disappointed we didn’t even try it last year and then this weekend resurrected it and - totally disappointed. DONT BUY THIS MACHINE ... show more
