Bought these to use on a screen room because the ones that came with it were short and flimsy. These stakes are substantial and pound into the ground easily. They're a little tough pulling back up, but that's a good problem to have because it means my rent is going nowhere. I bought the candy cane hooks and the u-hooks both. I have hard ground. Used a sledge hammer to pound it in. Overkill? Absolutely, only hammer I had. Lined up a 10 lb sledge hammer against my foot and ground, tapped it in, then pulled back 6-7 inches and let gravity do the work, 4 to 5 hits and it's done. I plan to secure the other side when I get more straps. That's a trapeze frame in the pic, tossed the trapeze accoutrement so I could hang my rings, now there is no tipping, at least on one side. There is 6 stakes, 4 for this pull up bar and plan to use the last 2 for an isochain station. ... show more

I use mine in the garden for holding down the tarp weed barrier. They used to bend when I would hit them with the hammer and still do. You have to remove them bend them back in place and take the mallet or hammer and beat the ground that’s too hard at least 10 times before reapplying them and most of the time that does work a few times they come out crooked but still OK hammered them down anyway so they bend over and still hold down the tarp weed barrier.
