  • I like the length of the teeth, but...
This brush has a few things going for it, and a negative. I've simplified it for you: Pro's... The teeth are long and do a great job penetrating long-haired fur. I have a Bernese mtn dog as a testament. The handle/grip is seriously comfortable. Soft rubberized material in all the right places keeps my hand from aching after a long brush session (again, I have a Bernese Mtn Dog). Colors of the brush make it hard to lose. Teeth are very sturdy. Very unlikely to bend if, say, the brush is accidentally stepped on (hey, it happens). Con's... My only real con with this brush is that I believe the teeth are spread to far apart from each other. This prevents the brush from actually 'grabbing' the dog hair to be pulled out. It was very effective at loosening the undercoat, but it never picked the hair up and off the dog. I had to go back over with another brush to actually pick up the hair. With that being said, I will continue to use this brush as the job it does on the undercoat is pretty valuable to me. But be aware that finishing the job may be a two-brush job. ... show more

  • Decent rake for undercoats
Solid construction, the pins are very firmly attached. I wish they were slightly longer. There is never just one tool that does it all. I would recommend to use this as day to day maintenance for dogs with undercoats, like siberian huskies. If your husky has shorter hair and coarser fur, get one similar with 2 rows instead. This one works better for my husky with near wooly coat because it doesn't pull at too much of her fur at a time. Again, emphasis on this being a more suitable deshedder to be used on the regular basis compared to tools like furminator. Those types of tools damage fur, but this type of rake has soft rounded pins so it doesn't damage your dog's coat. It's a decent product. ... show more

  • Good for the price
It's a decent brush, especially for the price. I have a lab, and he's starting to shed his winter coat. It didn't pick up to much hair, but he enjoyed being brushed lol. I'd probably have to brush him for a good hour to get a lot of that excess fur off. But, it did work. I think having a second and/or third row would be better. The handle was sturdy, easy to hold, and again, my dog loved it. If your looking for a non expensive brush, you'll like this. Just be prepared to spend a while brushing your dog if they are starting to shed their coat. If you have a dog with a double coat, this probably isn't the brush for you. ... show more

  • Works pretty well
I brushed my medium haired dog with this grooming rake today and my dog enjoyed the “grooming” very much. It remind me of a garden rake in a way. When I garden and use a rake I pull the leaves and debris towards me, the leaves fall out along the way and don’t necessarily stay in the tongs of the rake. The same with this grooming rake deshedding brush. When I brushed my dog, hairs fell out from the brush because there is only one row of teeth. Unlike a regular brush that has multiple rows that might catch the hair, this drops the hair if it gets a little full. So I am undecided on if I’m all that happy with it. ... show more

  • Great for my thick-furred cat
I have 3 cats and one of them sheds by the bucket because her fur is so thick. A slicker brush works fine for all my cats, but is just not enough for the thick-furred one. I thought I'd try this brush to see if it helped in any way. I didn't expect it to do much more than the slicker brush, but surprisingly it filled up. It grabbed the loose hair that the slicker brush left behind and got some more besides. She really seemed to like it and hold still. She often gets wriggly with the slicker brush so it was nice to be able to just brush her for once. ... show more

  • Gentler than the Furminator, but not as effective
I have an Australian Cattle Dog with a thick undercoat--and she is blowing it now! The problem is, she really hates the Furminator. So I got this specifically because it's for deshedding the undercoat, but is gentle. And my girl definitely prefers this brush, but it is just not as effective. The photos show what came off after multiple strokes with the Grooming Rake versus what came off going over the same area a couple of times afterwards with the Furminator. If you can't tell, the Grooming Rake really didn't remove a lot of the undercoat, whereas the Furminator quickly grabbed on to a lot of loose fur. I think this will be nice to use on a daily basis to keep the shedding from getting completely out of control, but unfortunately I'll still need to use a different deshedder to really manage the undercoat. ... show more

  • Comfortable hair rake brush
It's a good rake brush for dog hair. These kind of. brushes are for removing tons of hair but loosening and removing dirt. If you want a lot of removing of hair you want something finer than a rake. So if your dog has lots of knots these will help. Best for long and short hair coated dogs.

  • Not what I expected
This isn't a bad grooming rake but it should state it is much better used on long haired dogs & cats as it is mostly useless on short haired.
