I purchased and returned a very similar double towel bar from Gatco. That one the chrome was not as smooth and the edges were not sharp. This one - very clear almost white chrome, the edges are sharp and consistent. The attaching hardware appears milled and not punched. It does not get 5 stars because the instructions are terrible. They just tell you how long the bar is but offer no real guidance on measuring or installing the hardware. The included wall anchors are also sub-par and I ended up using my own as the ones included just spun in the hole when I tried to use them. Never got a solid positive lock. If you mount into a stud - this won't be an issue but you may not find a stud at both mounting points. ... show more

    • Poor design functionality - cannot hang 2 bath towels easily.
I bought this towel bar for the purpose of being able to hang 2 bath towels on it. However, the space between the 2 bars is too close together, making it very difficult to hang a second towel once the first towel is hung on one of the bars. Even if I finally squeeze my fingers into the tight space to hang the 2nd towel, there is not enough air space between the 2 towels to dry them effectively. Also, the corners of the towel bar are not rounded and stick out, so when you hang a large bath sized towel on it, you cannot fully spread out the towel across the bar in order to dry the towel across the entire surface like you can with a towel bar that has curved and rounded edges. This towel bar was poorly designed for functionality and I therefore dislike it. However, once it is installed and already paid someone to hang it, it is too expensive to return and get another double towel bar. ... show more

This is a high-quality German-made product. It is obviously highly plated chrome-why anyone would think it had white knobs escapes me. Instructions could be a bit better, with giving guidance on the distance between the mounting plates. But easy enough to muddle through and get it installed.
