    • Very Good Insert, fits the G1023 RL series saws
I recently posted that this insert won't work for the G1023RLW table saw, however, I was mistaken. This insert does work. When looking at the insert, you assume that the leveling screws would be facing up, however the fact is they face down. I would have thought Grizzly would design this inset to function similar to the inserts that come with the saw, in that you can adjust the leveling screws while the insert is in the table saw throat. Also, I am not sure why they don't complete the cut for the riving knife, but that wasn't difficult to accomplish. Overall, this is a great insert, but I didn't give it 5 stars because of the leveling screws. I would recommend this product to a friend. ... show more

    • but I don't like this insert for two reasons
I followed the instructions for sanding down the bumps to get a tight fit with no significant problems, but I don't like this insert for two reasons. First, because the riving knife slot isn't pre-cut you have to route/saw it out separately. This requires slotting it almost to the very back edge of the insert, which caused mine to split at the back. Second, I had to sand the tab at the back that holds the insert down in order to get it to fit in my saw without levering the front of the insert up, and now I'm not confident it will be strong enough to hold the insert in place. I may reinforce it by gluing in another tab/catch to the side of the blade, which wouldn't be necessary if this were designed a little better. ... show more

    • Must have accessory for your Grizzly table saw
This is a must have for any table saw and was one of the very first purchases I made after buying my Grizzly 1023SL table saw. It makes cutting wood on your saw much safer and is a worthwhile investment. The fit was perfect and the quality of the insert was very nice. I sanded the edges slightly to make it a bit easier to put in and remove, but it was a cinch to start using. ... show more

    • No brainer, get one
I don't know how I put up with the standard inserts that come with all saws. This one is the best. No more loosing wood down the slot and having the saw manhandle you. Makes a good saw a great saw.

    • not quite correct fit
Did not fit my saw as stated. I needed to tape in paper shims to get it to stay put.

Works great. Keeps wood from falling into the cabinet when cutting thin rips. Supports thin pieces, prevent tear-out, smooth sliding surface, easy to level.
