    • Does an OK job of cleaning the grill. Just OK.
My new brush. I was super excited to get it since I had spent the last something like 20 grilling years replacing crappy grill brushes, and the internet swore up and down that this thing will NOT fall apart like every other brush. Verdict: true. This brush looks the same today after about 5 or 6 grill sessions as it did on the first one. It is durable. But the cleaning... well it's not great. Allow me to explain. Those "terrible" old brushes I have been using for the last 20 years fell apart rather rapidly, but when I put some muscle and sense of purpose into cleaning the grill, those things performed. Char? Gone. Not quite charred chicken remains? Gone. Caked on sugary BBQ sauce detritus? Abolished. This particular brush gets the big stuff off, but when it comes to the really caked on stuff it doesn't work so well. If you're looking for a brush that gets all the bits of your grilling experience off the grill and your grilling grate looking like you just purchased it, this is not necessarily the brush for you. However, if you adhere to the school of thought that "fire purifies all" and just need to get the big chunks off - and you don't want to buy a new bruh every couple months - this is the brush for you. 4 stars. Minus one star since it doesn't get the grill grate 100% spic and span, but it does make it so a little pre-heat fire treatment will calm the nerves about grate cleanliness. ... show more

The main drive that prompted this purchase was the constant reports of people swallowing metal bristles from wire brushes. I have always used a wired brush up to this point, but decided I no longer wanted to take that risk. I have only used this brush for a few weeks but so far so good. Anyone knows that you have to heat the grill before the brush is effective. I typically clean the grill grates before and after grilling. The instructions also recommended dipping it in water. I will make my first few passes with the brush dry and then will use water. It works well enough, not sure what anybody else would want. I saw images of rusted brushes, but I have not had that issues so far and I use the water method each time. I often question whether people are properly following instructions and find that some poor reviews can be attributed to operator error. It's a grill brush that works when you follow instructions: heat the grill, allow tempt to rise and maintain, then brush, dip in water and brush again. It's not that complicated. ... show more

I like this brush for cleaning the grill no more bristles coming off and possibly getting in your food and it is sturdy enough to really put pressure on it to scrub grates off and the handle is nice and long.

This device works okay but not nearly as good as a wired brush. However, it is much safer to use if you consider the wired bristles getting into food.

Does a wonderful job of cleaning the grill! The steam part of the process does a great job. Also love the fact that I don't have to worry about bristles after cleaning the grill. Bravo!

I wanted a bristle free brush and this is that! It has a nice long handle and it’s definitely sturdily made of good quality materials but it is tougher to get in between the grooves of the grates, and scrape residue off the top of grates because of it’s firm coils I followed some of the reviews /recommendations and pour water on the coils before scraping the grates clean. I think that helps to clean the residue off the grates. I do recommend it as it was what I was looking for and achieves its purpose of being bristle free .. ... show more

    • It is Safer Than Other Brushes but Does Not Clean As Well
I purchased this to prevent the dangerous event of steel wire fragments getting stuck on the grill and potentially ingested. This works for that purpose and it is worth the additional time to clean the grill as it does not clean as quickly and easily as other brushes. That is the tradeoff and I accept the tradeoff. I have had similar models of this type of brush and I will say you need to replace them frequently. The steel wire will begin to come off the brush after about five months of heavy use. The moment you start to see the wire separate from the bundling...get a replacement. ... show more
