  • Hope for Divine Intervenion, Don't Assemble in Wind, Only Need One Sheet of Plywood
Color: Brown Style: 6' x 4'
I hesitated buying this because I know how flimsy metal sheds can be. I thought I wanted a wood shed. However, the prices of wood sheds that size are close to $800, and even a resin one was $600. So, ultimately, the price got me. I’m very disappointed in the “instructions” because there really aren’t any. There are NO written instructions whatsoever, the installation guide is made up of images only. We all know that the images don’t show details well, leaving you to guess which side goes up and which faces down. It becomes a crapshoot at times. I had to, on at least 3 occasions, take apart pieces that were facing wrong and reinstall them a 2nd time, making this job much more time consuming than it needs to be. With some written instructions, this could be a very simple task and go much quicker. Simple things like adding written instructions to explain which side faces up would have helped me tremendously. Very frustrating that the makers of the shed couldn’t have the decency to add written instructions to go along with these images. This pretty much is the basis for my 3 stars given. Had it come with written instructions and not had plastic all over each piece, my rating would have been close to 5/5. As it is, I give it 4 stars for the price and minus 1 star for the lack of written instructions. First off, before the shed even arrived, I had to make and prepare a base to put it on. I could not get any answers as to what side base was required. For example, I wanted to use a 4x8 piece of plywood and wondered if the 4’ would be too short, or end up working. Not one person could answer my question. I ended up going to Lowes to get a 4x8 sheet of plywood to use for the base, and making the base frame out of 2x4’s. I made a 4x8 base to make it simple, and eliminate the need for cutting the plywood. So, there is technically 2’ extra but it doesn’t seem like it once its done. After making a 4x8 foundation for the shed, I was ready to begin building the shed on the platform. My worry about constructing this outside was the wind in our area. It has been windy everyday for an extremely long time and was projected to be windy the entire week, so I could only pick the best day wind-wise to start this. I had posed the question if the shed could be moved easily after being constructed, because I wanted to build it in my garage to avoid the wind, and then move it to its final resting place. I didn’t get answers, but I can answer the question now, NO. You can’t move the shed that distance after it is put together. It’s too flimsy. In fact, the one thing that really helps make it sturdy is bolting it down to the 4x8 foundation I made for it. So, I looked at the forecast and picked the best wind day to begin installing. I started early in the morning when winds are the weakest, but I knew it would take me the entire day and so it was concerning when the afternoon winds picked up. I did this project all by myself, so I had to try to get as much done in one day as possible. My body was sore and aching when I called it quits for the night. Not because the pieces are heavy, but because of all the bending and leaning, and so forth. There were times during the assembly that I didn’t think I would be able to assemble this. The lack of any written instructions was frustrating and making me feel like giving up at times. But I kept at it, correcting some areas as I went along. I don’t know what kept me going. Somehow someone above was up there helping me through this guessing-game. I’ll post some pictures, although the shed is not yet done. It will take a decade to peel all the plastic off of it. Each individual piece is caked with a layer of plastic that will not peel off in one strip, only tears off in little bits at a time. It is utterly ridiculous. Looking back, I would suggest trying to peel off the plastic before installing it, because once you have hardware like screws and such drilled into it, its harder to peel off. I am surprised and shocked that I was able to assemble this. .If you have arthritis like I do, you will find the simple task of holding the tiny metal screws and tiny white washers difficult. One thing I’d like to mention is, the tracking info did not indicate the shed was arriving, or had even shipped. One day, the UPS guy showed up with one box and asked me where I wanted it. I told him that the shed I ordered was supposed to come in 2 boxes, but he said he only had one. I then worried that they sent me the wrong one, because the link to the shed I ordered was now showing a 3x5 shed only, and not the 4x6 shed I ordered. I guess this was temporary while they were out of the 4x6 size. I contacted Amazon about the missing box, and they said my shed had not been shipped yet. I explained that it was and that I received the one box. They could not tell me when the other half would arrive, but it did end up coming the next day. Again, with no indication of it having been shipped. Ultimately, there was one metal bar, the one on the top-right frame that was placed upside down, so that the holes were facing down when they should have been facing up. I went and got a metal drill bit and drilled my own holes on that particular section and even though it should have been facing up, I probably would have had to drill holes on it anyway because not every predrilled hole will line up correctly, so I don’t fault myself for that. Finally, one last note regarding where you place your shed. I wanted my shed up against the back of my house, and of course, this shed can’t be moved around much at all. This made it difficult to put the back parts of the roof on, because you do need some clearance behind your shed to complete assembly. After moving it in such a way to allow enough clearance for assembly, I then slid it back up against the house a bit more and bolted it down after it was situated. Leave at least 2’ of working space behind the back of the shed to install your roof panels near the end of the project. Time will tell how it holds up. ... show more

  • Okay Shed As Is—Excellent Shed for Extra $70
Color: Brown Style: 5' x 3'
The media could not be loaded. This shed took about 2.5 hours to assemble with my wife’s occasional help. I’ve seen other reviews say this is a two person job and for the most part that’s true. However, if you have something like saw horses or ratchet straps or really anything that will support the vertical portions without you having to hold them, then it’s a one person job. The pros: - this shed is a GREAT value for the money. A huge cut above anything I could find at Walmart or Sam’s or Home Depot, etc - it’s fairly easy to assemble if you’ve got an impact driver. Don’t buy any means use a screwdriver unless you’re just a glutton for punishment. You sometimes need the extra force of the impact driver to bring the metal into the correct position. The thing is somewhat sturdy on its own. It’s heavy enough that someone couldn’t just pick it up and throw it or something to get to the contents. It’s got a plastic coating which I did NOT tear off because I figured it added to the weather protection Cons: - unless you’re a short person you won’t be able to stand up in it. The thing is pretty short. But then again it’s a storage shed. You’re probably not gonna be walking around in it. - The screws provided are incredibly small and I wouldn’t trust them to hold up to much - The thing is fairly weak overall. If I fell into it I think I’d bust through the walls. And if two people wanted to get your stuff, then all they’d have to do is stand on either side and pick up the shed since it does not have a bottom - The included latch is flimsy and so is the hardware. But again, you’re paying for the shed, not top quality hardware. Again, that’s an aftermarket thing. - The thing is not super waterproof. Water WILL get in the bottom. I haven’t observed yet whether it gets through the roof or the sides but it definitely gets through the bottom if there’s nothing under it and it’s open at the floor - Overall, it’s a cheap shed and you get what you pay for, but if you do what I suggest below, you get a really quality shed. TO MAKE IT BETTER AND STRONGER: I set out to reinforce this cheap budget shed and make it at least a bit more intruder proof and make it not feel like it’s blow away with some heavy winds. It cost me an extra $70 or so at Home Depot if you already have some basic tools (drill, impact driver, circular saw, screws) Here’s what I did (see my pics and video in the post) if you’re even a slight bit handy you should be able to do this. 1. I laid five concrete blocks ($2.98 each) on the corners and center of the bottom. This helped to weigh the shed down and provide a raised platform so water running under it wouldn’t automatically touch the contents of the shed. (I live at a rental property so I couldn’t do anything drastic to anchor it. If I owned the property I would’ve used concrete anchors through the base into the slab on my back porch or I would’ve used rebar to hold it in the ground like stakes. Lots of different options to anchor it to the ground) 2. I bought the cheapest plywood I could get that had some sort of weather coating on it. It was $14 for a 4x8ft sheet at Home Depot. Don’t remember what it was called. Other options could be buying a sheet of plywood and painting or coating with epoxy to help it not rot. Really anything like that’d work. I cut it to the dimensions of the base and sat it on top of the concrete blocks 3. Next came framing (something I’d never done before this, so you can do it too). I bought a 8ft piece of 2x6” pressure treated wood and two 12ft 2x4” pressure treated wood. I cut the 2x4s into four vertical pieces to serve as studs in all four corners of the shed. I anchored these to the shed usIng Tek wood-to-metal self drilling screws that I already had on hand. Lots of different screws would work but these got the job done. I used a combination of 1 3/4” screws and 3” screws going down the side. I then used the 2x6s to make shelves running perpendicular to the 2x4s. They were attached with cheap decking joist things (not sure what they’re actually called, you can see them in the video). They were similarly secured with tek screws. 4. Use an assortment of hooks or whatever you like to hang things from the “shelves” and organize that bad boy! 5. Lastly I upgraded the lock. For $8 at Home Depot you can get a much nicer locking mechanism and secure it with stronger bolts than the provided ones. Haven’t gotten around to installing the lock at the time of writing this but it’s not hard. 6. Optional: I didn’t do this but if you want to make extra sure you don’t let in the elements or cause you’re shed to rust, you could use finishing washers with every single screw OR go back and slop some sealant over each screw to make it airtight. I’m not too worried about that though. Prior to doing this I searched high and low to find a tutorial for how to make this stronger and I couldn’t find anything. Literally seemed like no one had ever done this which I find hard to believe. So I share this to say that I’m not overly handy but I could do it. Total extra cost was around $70-$80 so for about $200 you can have a REALLY solid shed. Hope this helps somebody. ... show more

  • Good little Garden shed
Color: Brown Style: 5' x 3'
I just finished the kit. I used 2 by 4's and built a solid base for this shed. It is sitting on cement squares that have to be level ( or cement foundation would be best ) You need 2 people to do the first few panels or the wind will get you. The whole kit is little basic self tapping screws. they might need to be tightened up in a year or so. One of the roof panels did not line up with screw holes and had to drill my own in it. Has a lock but if someone wanted to get in, it would not be too hard to take out some screws. Good for the price. ... show more

  • Decent shed
Color: Brown Style: 5' x 3'
that is not as big as it says it is!!!! A smaller dimensions! Assembly wasn’t that horrible but the instruction could have been a bit more clear. I did it alone and it was doable. Don’t know if it is water proof because it hasn’t rained. It also came dented even the packaging wasn’t damaged. The protective plastic took off some paint when I removed it. Also, I found out that it is best not to remove the plastic in the sun. Wanted to give it a 5 star review but because of the dents, bends, scratches and wrong dimensions it is only a 4 for me. ... show more

  • Good product...instructions are awful.
Color: Brown Style: 5' x 3'
Seems like a pretty affordable, sturdy shed. The instructions are not very clear and the roof portion did not fit together the way it was intended. I thought maybe I just didn't follow the instructions properly, but after buying a second one and following the instructions, I am convinced that 2 of the pieces in the kit are not drilled properly as the holes do not line up. I simply drilled my own guide holes and the roof lined up perfectly on the second shed. ... show more
