  • It’s worth it
I’ve been using weekly, since receipt. I enjoy it much more than my old gas riders that were worn out. You could carry on a cellphone conversation riding this without the blades engaged. With blades engaged it is of course, much louder. Still nowhere near as loud as gas rider. It turns quickly and effortlessly, as there’s no weight n front end. It’s not as heavy as gas zero turn my neighbor gets stuck in his ditch and I helped get out. And, if you were to sink this rider n a muddy ditch, it has attachment points, front and rear, to slip in a full size hitch with ball. So, it’d be easy to pull it out with a truck. I’m sold on This brand. I’ve got 2 of their chainsaws, blower, commercial weedeater, and saving up for their polesaw that’s battery powered. It’s a lot of money, but it’s like riding a Cadillac around rather than a model T. You can put the cruise on, one hand steer it, it’s very comfortable. Has lots of power. Especially with blades disengaged. Plan ahead on your delivery, it’s 700 pounds or so on the steel frame it’s delivered on, and delivered by huge diesel cargo truck. You have to change transaxle fluid at 50 hrs, then again every 200 hrs. That’s the only maintenance other than grease fittings I see n front suspension, like any riding mower. Changing the transaxle fluid requires removing the plastic bed, and metal support frame under it. Fill is on top, drain on bottom, of course. It requires a weight not locally sourced, so you’ll likely have to order, it’s way more expensive that common weight rear end fluid. Refilling the transaxle is a challenge requiring ingenuity, as the weight oil is super thick, and the fill hole tiny. Even with bed and bed support frame removed, you’ll have to find a combination of funnel and maybe rubber hose on end of that to fill. Be prepared with paper towels for run out, when transaxle full. Fill slow to let the thick weight oil burp itself. Like any transaxle, differential, or “rear end”, fill til full. I think it was maybe 3.5 ounces or so for transaxle, so that expensive bottle of hard to find weight oil will last for quite awhile. Fit and finish everywhere is good, super comfy seat with armrests, comfy steering wheel. The special procedure to engage deck, which in reverse, is not intuitive to me. I own 3-4 other running gas riders, this one blows the remainder away. I’ve yet to buy any item this company makes that isn’t enjoyable and durable. I do wish this had came with all 6 batteries it can hold, for the money. ... show more

  • Greenworks rock!!
Great mower. I unfortunately got one of the charger broken but was partially refunded for it. It is a great mower and covers a lot with 4 battery. Only bothersome feature is the reverse blade which needs the reverse blade button pressed but it is for safety so wouldn’t complain. 🙂 Safe for the environment, efficient and very low noise as compared to the gas ones. PS: it comes on a metal crate which is a little hard to get rid off. I hope the delivery people hauls it away. ... show more

  • Came assembled
Came assembled which was awesome. Wish it would have come with 6 batteries. Have used it once and performed as expected. Very quiet compared to my gas zero turn.

  • Repair Service
I do not like writing negative reviews because one is more motivated to write a negative review than a positive one. But my experience has been such a nightmare, I want to warn others of the possibilities. I purchased the Greenworks CRT428 tractor from Best Buy on March 16th and it was delivered on March 27th. The hardest part was uncrating, but I only had to install the seat and steering wheel which went well. I had no problem with using it the first 3 or 4 times and it had sufficient power and handled slight inclines very well. My only disappointment was it did not easily mow in reverse but was able to work around that issue. I believe it was on April 11th when I was mowing the lawn and parked the mower to go inside for lunch; that when I returned to continue mowing, it started but would not move forward or in reverse. The next day, I called Greenworks Support and waited over an hour on the phone, a representative going through several steps including disconnecting and reconnecting the batteries helped me get it to move again. However, when I came back later, it would not move again. This led to another call to Greenworks Support the next day and this time the representative was not able to help me. She suggested I submit a video on how I was proceeding. After reviewing the video, the support team recommended that I have it serviced. I was told that the repair service would not include transporting the unit so I would be responsible for the transport cost. A few days later, I was given the name of a repair shop, and I contacted it. I was told that they had a backlog and I would have to get on a waiting list, but it will take three to four months to get back to me. So in essence, I purchased a new lawn tractor that I will not be able to use for almost the entire grass cutting season. Really, the customer of a recent purchase must bear the burden for this? ... show more

  • Performed as hoped.
It did a good job of mowing the lawn. Plenty of power. Mowed a little over a half acre of lawn and only used about 30 percent of the battery capacity.

  • Not the best, not the worst
It is not great. It lacks power, clogs easily, and if you have longer grass/more debris it will struggle to do the job. Additionally, it does not like hills or inclines much, and struggles to maintain cutting in those circumstances. It is best if you have a very level yard that you will mow weekly (at the least) to keep low and maintained. it will likely still clog, but not as frequently. Additionally, after being assured it was the lowest price they would offer on the mower less than a month after I bought it they offered it for 500$ less and would not match the price. So, be wary of that as well. Overall, I like a lot about the mower, it is fast, easy to use and cuts fairly well. However, it lacks power, clogs easily, and struggles to cut on hills, inclines or in thicker grass/more debris strewn areas. Additionally, be careful of your purchase price as they will not honor a price change after the fact. ... show more
