I love this machine. Light to push, easy maneiverability, cuts a good deep path of snow. Nice small size. Amazed at how well it works. Wish I also had their bigger model. Gets my front yard all done with one battery charge. And there is a lot to do., I have the 5.0 Ah battery. Would love an extra of that battery too. I'm a snow shovel kind of guy. Well, I used to be. I had no use for snow blowers unless they were 2-stage and the snow was over a foot and wet. Otherwise I could clear my property with a shovel faster than my neighbors that had snow blowers, and I didn't have to suck in exhaust fumes, and it was great exercise. But, we all get older and things change. Bad shoulders, bad knees, time for some assistance. A couple of years ago I bought a Snow Joe corded model (I prefer electric tools over gas: noise, fumes, etc.). It was okay, but the cord is a pain to manage (even a good one meant for very cold weather) and it limits how far I can go. I had wanted a Greenworks one (40v to go with all the batteries and chargers I have for the Greenworks lawnmowers I've had over the years, and still use/love), but I was worried that it wouldn't have enough power to handle tall/wet snow. My area has been getting less snow each year, but still prone to a few big ones a year and I didn't want to find that a battery powered one can't cut it. Well, the last 2 years we haven't even had any "big one" storms and the big corded blower has gone unused, and my body can't handle the shoveling anymore. So, I bought the Greenworks 40v 16" blower to use when there isn't enough snow for the Snow Joe. It arrived (long before first snow) and I put it together and gave it a quick run. I got worried because it just didn't seem like it was going to be powerful or fast enough to do the small job I was buying it for. Well, yesterday was the first accumulation of over 2" around hear for the season (yeah, we are getting less and less snow) and I broke out the Greenworks. WOW!!! This thing is great! It was a moderate packing type of snow between 2 and 4 inches (depending on where on my property) and this little guy just ate it up! I thought I was going to be outside for 45 minutes to an hour, but I was done in less than 20 minutes. All I had to do was just walk and push and this thing gobbled up and spat out all of the snow I could give it. I started walking even faster and faster and it just kept performing. I even did the neighbor's front walk (which I couldn't reach with the corded Snow Joe). Then it snowed again today, another 2 inches. And this was a heavy packing type (snowman, snowball, snow fort type). It handled this pretty well too (I had to clear it a few times, but that was easy by just yanking on the handle hard enough to bounce the unit on the ground). Again, done in fabulously fast time - faster than I could have done with a shovel in my youth, and not left exhausted after. I have 4 chargers, and about 8 compatible batteries (from various makers), so I bought the version of blower that didn't come with extra charger or battery because it saved $50 (I see now it's only an additional $20 to get with battery/charger, oh well). I thought I was gonna need 2 or 3 batteries per clearing, but I only used half of a full-sized one. I love how quiet it is and how light it is. And the easily adjustable spout can make the snow fall just a foot or two away if you want (not spraying places you don't want and not letting it fly back in your face) or throw it high into the air and far away. This pictures in the add showing this throwing lots of snow high and far are for real! The controls are identical to my Greenworks mowers, so the operation is a no-brainer. Overall I really like the electric snow shovel. My initial test was on four to five inches of snow. My driveway is long and relatively steep. It probably took about thirty to forty-five minutes to finish the job. Assembly was an easy three step process and you only need an adjustable wrench (socket wrench would work, too) the rest of the connections are with wing nuts that tighten by hand -- total time fifteen minutes. Only problem I had with the instructions related to the middle handle because the text did not explain that the hole in the cross bar needs to be on the same side as the directional lever. It would be easy to put it on the wrong way and discover the error in the next step, wasting time and effort. Other than a problem the extension cord loop disengaging from the plug on the shovel, operation was generally good. The unit does seem to be somewhat out of balance causing the user to lean forward while pushing it. This action can make any small bump stop the shovel from moving, and pushing harder does no good. But, compensating for this design flaw after a bit of use became automatic. I found the discharge directional control lever could be turned all the way to the right or left to direct the snow ejection. Noise wasn’t too obnoxious but I wouldn’t use it before the neighbors are awake, but I didn’t feel the need for hearing protection. Power remained consistent throughout the driveway clearance. But, if you push too fast the shovel slows down and the snow isn’t thrown as far. Probably the right speed is about half a normal walking pace. Results are I cleared the driveway without hurting my back (a big plus) in better time than if I’d used a manual shovel. The product is all plastic but still seems to be well constructed, but only time will tell. I will post an update if after further use I encounter any problems, but for now I am very pleased with the performance. ... show more

I bought this to replace a corded Sno Jo and today I finally got to try it out. The difference is night and day. Lightweight, no tangled extension cords, quieter, and does a decent job on the driveway and sidewalk. Granted, the snow is only an inch or two, but it did a great job in a short time.
