  • Fun and not too many parts to keep track of
I bought this for a two-year-old granddaughter, who had been a preemie and needed fun toys for building fine motor control. She loves it. Her older and younger cousins (3 and 18 months) also really enjoy it. I had purchased a different set from a different manufacturer with more than a hundred parts for another grandchild also aged two, who loved hers, too. Just know the child. This one is sturdier, and less confusing, but still very fun. I got a plastic shoe box with lid to keep the parts together and easy to find. ... show more

  • Beautiful, but not enough leaves and centers to maximize the gorgeous flowers.
I purchased CENOVE Build a Bouquet Floral Arrangement Playset for $35, and also a Green Toys Build-a-Bouquet for $30. Both are delightful sets, hours of creative fun for little girls. I found them delightful to play with and I am a grandmother. I have not yet given them to a grandchild for testing, but I know that I would have had endless fun arranging and displaying these beautiful flower gardens when I was a child. So which set should you buy? For sheer number of possibilities, Cenove soars far above Green Toys. 130 pieces versus Green Toys 42 pieces. Though the design of bases and stems appears to be identical, Cenove are more stable in their bases; and don't collapse so easily as the Green Toys. The Cenove set has more stamens, centers, and leaves than I have figured out how to use, making many levels and designs possible, while the The Green Toys has so few stamen and centers that some flowers simply can't have centers. (Green Toys has only nine centers for fifteen flowers.) Also Cenove many stems allow more variation in height of flowers. Green Toys barely has enough stems for the flowers. Though the Green Toys flowers are markedly prettier in design and in color, the difference is too small to make up for the other positives of the Cenove set. Cenove also includes a sturdy and attractive storage/carry case, while Green Toys come loose in a nondescript cardboard box. The Cenove set far outperforms the Green Toys set, and for only five dollars more. I didn't want to come up with this conclusion, but the Cenove set is far and away the best choice of the two, unless "green" outweighs all else. If Green Toys would increase the number of centers and leaves, and improve the stability, I'd be willing to pay significantly more for the Green one, because of the greenness and the superior beauty. Until then, I will be buying Cenove, when I want a set for a grandchild. ... show more

  • Possibly defective set, but my daughter loves them all the same!
I ordered and received this set about 6 months ago and I thought I remembered at the time that it was a 40 piece set but I’ve recently counted them and see that there are 42 pieces so we’ve probably lost them. But two of the yellow flowers are the same size (one should be smaller) so there’s a possibility that we never received two of them. In any case, the pieces missing are stems so I don’t think it’s terribly important that there are only 14 instead of 16. Finally, my daughter has put these through quite an ordeal by chewing on them and the only thing that has shown signs of abuse are the little pieces that go in the blooms but none of them have broken or bent. I’ve actually stepped on one and while it didn’t hurt the toy, I had quite a sore bruise for several days after. The one thing that would put them over the top is if they came with a storage bag. I reused a drawstring gift bag for them and I’m sure it has helped keep pieces from getting lost. They’re made in the USA; they’re sturdy, tasteful, and stimulating; in short, I love them and would gladly buy them again. ... show more

  • Three year old loves this!!
Love this! I homeschool my girls, 8 and 3. Usually school looks like the three year old throwing a fit while I attempt to teach the eight year old something. I have had my eye on this and bought it as soon as there was the hint of shelter-in-place being ordered. I have kept it in my closet and finally got it out this morning. It was amazing. We did more uninterrupted school with my eight year old then we ever have. My three year old would play with it. Then come to the table and do some of her “school” work. Then go back and play with the flowers some more. She never laid at my feet crying like she usually does. It was great. I did also make some brow “dirt” play dough to go along with this. Was lots of fun. My three year old doesn’t generally like following any type of instruction or ideas I. How to play. It after playing with this for a while she looked at the picture on the cover of the box and built all the flowers that are pictured. This was amazing for us because she never follows instructions given, and definitely not on her own (she got the box out and did it all by herself, without any suggestion from me!!) Just ordered another one for my daughters little best friends birthday in a few weeks. Also, my eight year old was also excited to play with this once her school work was done. ... show more

  • Love these
This is a great alternative to other Chinese poisonous brands since this is made of milk jugs I feel safer with her playing with it ! It is also a better quality than comparible brands… I pair these with bees from plantoys and oh what fun my toddler and I have for hours making combinations of small and tall flowers. The only downsize is there are not many flowers if you are playing with more than one child you would have to buy two boxes. ... show more

My kids (20 m and 3.5 y) love this! The pieces only nest together instead of snap into place, so they don’t stay together unless they’re upright. I wasn’t expecting them to affix, so I don’t care, and neither do the kids. It’s easy for them to stack the pieces, and a good tool to practice dexterity. It’s a creative toy in its own category, and would serve well to make scenery with other toys. We love it. I will note that a couple of the pieces are very small and disc-shaped, so if you have a smaller kid, I’d keep an eye out. ... show more
