I've been playing the Gran Turismo series since the beginning, and this game brings the series to a whole new level I couldn't have ever comprehended before. The new features such as buying aftermarket parts, upgrading both mechanical and cosmetic parts, as well as the introduction of the used car lots and legend cars dealership makes the game far more incredible than I could have ever expected. The gameplay is both challenging and fun all at the same time. The handling of the cars feels good, though it takes time to master (especially for more high-performing cars). The graphics are beautiful and the content is seemingly endless. I have sunken over 200 hours into the game already, and I'm certain that I won't stop playing anytime soon. The game is worth every penny. Even if it's not on sale, it's worth it if you are a fan of racing simulators. ... show more

Other than the lengthy video that you can't skip through the first time you play, this game is amazing! I haven't tried this game using a normal controller, but if you're going to get this game, I highly recommend a racing wheel and pedals at the least. I have the Logitech G29 wheel and pedals and a manual shift also from Logitech (although I haven't tried the shifter yet). I played the original GT with just a controller and lost interest. The wheel adds a whole new and interesting immersive dimension to the game. You can turn off the intro video in the settings and set up the cars so that they conform to your preferred style of play. I know I will have fun playing this, but I am also wanting a car game with open roads, kinda like Test Drive or Need for Speed. To each, their own, I guess. But, this was an amazing purchase that I am sure I won't grow tired of playing any time soon! ... show more

After putting over two hundred hours into this game I think it’s appropriate to leave a review. Grab turismo is and always has been the most advanced driving simulator of all time. Before forza Motorsports, Gran Turismo was the only simulator we had. The graphics are stunning, the developers release updates every month or so which include several new cars and even a couple of new tracks. Every week you get “weekly challenges” from the developers which just puts higher stakes on races you’ve already finished or most of the time, new races in a new class. If you love car games, this game is for you. It’s a classic and can even teach the youngsters the fundamentals of driving. It sounds stupid but I promise, if your kid plays this game you’re showing him that driving is not an easy task and requires skill to drive safely. Great game, highly recommend! ... show more

I would give this game 5 stars, but am deducting one because the first time I wanted to use it, I couldn't for a few hours. It had to do some updating. I have 100 MBPS fiber optic internet so the delay was not on my end. Eventually I was able to play. The interface was confusing to me at first. If I had to learn it again I would watch some of the tutorial videos on YouTube. Now that I am familiar with the game I am very impressed with the graphics and the level of detail. I like that the game has 4 options for steering: 1) A 3rd party steering wheel, 2) The left joystick, 3) The left/right buttons, and 4) Tilting the controller. You can map the functions to other controller buttons if you don't like the default layout. I agree with other reviewers that I don't like the so called "micro-transactions". $10 or $20 to buy game credits is not what I consider "micro". But if you do some searching of the gaming websites you can find which races to enter to earn credits quickly. All in all, I am very happy with buying this game and look forward to many hours of white knuckle driving on the edge of my seat! ... show more
