Description

Curvy is a timeless classic- a flowing curve wallpaper that is much more than just a richly textured design. It's also intended to help cover up those unsightly lumps and bumps on the wall surface, providing the smooth, clean finish every decorator wants. This product is also fully paintable- the graceful curves will look just as good in your favorite color. From the Manufacturer Graham and Brown was started by two dear friends, Harold Graham and Henry Brown in 1946. With the severe shortage of paper following the War, Henry and Harold cleverly procured a large supply of surplus metallic paper, an eight-color surface printer and a new embossing machine, with which the two men began a wallpaper revolution. The public, desperate for things to help brighten up their homes following the hard years of war, snapped it up so fast Graham and Brown could barely meet demand. At the heart of Graham and Brown lies a solid respect for its employees, customers and environment, which owes much to Henry Brown’s personal approach to business. Henry ensured his workers were well looked after in times of trouble or illness. Over time, new ideas in wallpaper were introduced like washable vinyl wallcoverings, the now famous Superfresco brand of wallpaper which could be painted or washed, pre- pasted products, ‘batchless’ wallcoverings and ‘paste the wall’ technology. New associations were forged with designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen who was quickly followed by Linda Barker, hemingwaydesign, Julien MacDonald, Jans des Bouvrie and most recently Marcel Wanders. Today, Graham and Brown operates internationally with divisions in Great Britian, the United States, France, Holland, Russia, Canada, China, and Germany. Innovation of thought and action has seen the company drive the industry from the doldrums into growth, but when you’ve been around this long, you always take the long term view.

  • It’s a subtle eye catcher
I like how this wallpaper looks, I do get compliments when I have ppl over, however I’d recommend not overlapping the paper AT ALL or you’ll def. See the lines as you can see in the pictures. Also you have to be careful to not to place anything on it or against bc the design comes off easily.

  • Gorgeous Pattern
This paintable wallpaper has a gorgeous pattern and looks fabulous on a vanity cabinet that I am currently refurbishing. I deducted one star because it does tear pretty easily.

  • Need to Know
We are always concerned when we see mixed reviews so I want to lay out exactly what our experience was like. We were first time wallpaperers! We do a LOT of DIY though, literally every type of construction, electric, plumbing, etc so we have a fairly good grasp on all DIY. When first opening the paper, we were a bit concerned as there were couple tears, and the edges were a little frayed. However, the couple of tears were in cuts of waste so we had no issues there and once glued and hung up the edges blended well. There is a little bit of inconsistency in some of the design along seams. (Meaning: even when one inner diamond is lined up perfect then the next one os off, then the next was back on point...it was odd.) Also, it can be difficult to cut, buy lots of razors or exacto knife. With all this being said, it turned out great! The little imperfections blended away. We are letting it cure before painting so I'll update the post after we do that. The things we would want you to know when taking this project on are have plenty of razors...it frays easily and you do not want the paper to tear. When cutting, we found if you run the blade flat, it cuts cleaner. If you angle it and apply pressure at the point of the razor you get bunching and tears. We did have a couple of "oops" spots first the first run but were able to use paste to blend the cut together at the baseboard. (We know it is there but when asking others, they cannot see it.) It is a lot easier to do with two people, if you have the luxury of help! I have included pictures of the paste we used too. We found it best to use a paint roller to roll the paste on the paper, then roll the wall. We allowed 4-5 minutes after Application before hanging. We tried to glue just the wall and it caused bubbling and just the paper did not allow it to stick well, so we recommend doing both but allow it to "set up" before hanging. We only used a long flat brush to smooth the paper out. (Pic included.) Paste clean up was not needed on the paper with this type of application. However paste on the brushes washed off with soap and warm water. So, we definitely would use this again! It looks great even left unpainted, but we will be doing that tomorrow. It did take us 3.5 hours since we had never hung paper and had some unique cuts. The cuts take the most time though since we wanted to do our best to minimize damage to the edges. The few imperfections will fade with paint, and I have never seen a "perfect" wall in any house! The wall we hung the paper on had a LOT of imperfections that we could never fully fix, but now we cannot see any of them. We highly recommend as the final product looks amazing, but it does carry a degree of difficulty especially if you are doing this alone. We are planning our next wall! Good luck! We hope this information is helpful! (The close up pic I included has a couple of the imperfections I described...see if you find them!) ... show more

  • Love, Hate and Admiration...
Okay - deep breath. I was wallpapering just a moment ago and just about came unglued. Pun intended. Decided to take a break to rant about why i love (and hate) this wallpaper. 1. This is great quality paintable. I love the trippy designs by Graham & Brown and the price at amazon always seems to be less than elsewhere. 2. Either I got a bad batch or the listing fails to note that this is not pre-pasted. I ordered 2 rolls in April and another this month. I just ordered 4 more rolls to finish the project I have going, and some are pre-pasted and some are not. Luckily, the "hub" was willing to run to the hardware store and get me some paste and other tools i do not typically need. Paste was $15 for a reasonable size bucket. You may need to plan for this expense as a possible need (?) Don't say I did not warn you. 3. I am not a wallpaper novice, and if this was my first stab at paperhanging, I'd jump off the ladder. In the interest of your embrace of the wall paper arts, stick it out. Learn to bookend wallpaper, and paper this thick is generally a cinch. If you run into a problem with no paste (and the package seems to not detail the paste yes/no issue either). Delightfully, it tells me "strippable" which in decor lingo means I can easily rip it down. Well, not with the paste i used...since i was mid wall with wet paper, I watered down some Elmer's Tacky Glue and sealed the edges with modpodge matte. it will never come off the wall now. for better or worse. 4. If you want to do an excellent job "little miss (or mister) do-it-yourself", you will need, a great big wallpaper sponge, a plastic tray (I think a rubbermaid underbed storage box works better than the dumpy, cheap wallpaper trays), sharp scissors, an exacto or breakaway straight blade cutter, a yardstick or straight edge, sharpie or non-run marker, access to water, and patience. The heavier the wallpaper, the easier to "get it right..." If you are worried about seams, a seam roller is a nice cheap tool to have on hand. When I wallpaper, I have been known to forgoe a tray and use a hand held shower and this also works. Your McGuyver skills are handy with any wallpaper project. 5. Another site reviewer mentioned correctly that the repeat is a little weird. Plan for extra waste as you want the seams perfect since any "off" in the design will be easily noticeable with the funky dimensional aspect of this design in particular. The roll states 56 sf per roll yield. I figured with waste it was more like 44+/-. Of course, I am DETAIL freak perfectionista and had alot of corners and strange details. More is always better, yes?! Don't forget - unlike a local store - if you need more from Amazon, it will likely be a different batch or LOT. Yes, Virginia...this CAN make a difference that is noticeable. Sometimes the roll on paintable dimensional wallpaper differs and one looks like it has a deep impression with another lot with a weaker impression. Wouldn't that tick you off?? Better to order more than you need and if necessary - return the over or use elsewhere. Just my wallpaper princess opinion, of course. Finally, this is fairly inexpensive wallpaper as far as cost, so frankly a good place for a beginner to start. Pretty resiliant, it's difficult to damage. And of course, paint will cover a host of potential mistakes like a little tear. It's a good choice for the inset panels to freshen up cabinets, door panels, bookcase backs, or the face of bureaus or dressers if you want something fresh and zingy and new looking. Don't be afraid of this wallpaper, paste or no...it may be the beginning of a beautiful wallpaper adventure. I will post photos with an without paint as soon as I have completed this project. Stay tuned, folks! ... show more

  • Beautiful!!!
Somewhat tricky to install, it does stretch somewhat so extra care is needed to get it lined up on your pasted wall before letting it touch. But wow! I love how it looks once painted. My old house walls are not square enough to wrap this paper around the wall corners so I cut the corners and will be installing thin corner wood trim pieces and painting them to match the walls. You do need to be careful with this paper since the design can be compressed and not puff back up. So do t leave it laying on the floor between cuts and then let you kid walk across it like mine did. I had to cut that piece off and throw it out. And don’t use an edge/seem roller that you use on flat wallpaper to make sure the edges are firmly in place. I used a wall paper brush and a slightly damp rag to gently press the edges into place. ... show more

  • This is not peal and stick
It’s was okay to hang but you need to buy wallpaper glue glue, brushes etc. turned out awesome. I have some bubbles but thankfully those are behind my TV! ☺️ I get a lot of compliments on my virtual meetings about it.

  • Good wallpaper. Any flaws may have been due to user error.
Not bad. Cover my foyer wall with this wallpaper and then painted it.
