I decided that it was time to revamp my desk/vanity! I have a black Micke desk from Ikea and while it's a lovely style, it was looking a little lifeless. So I decided to look into what I could do to liven it up! After reading the reviews, I'll admit, I was a bit hesitant, but it was pretty cheap so I figured I didn't have much to lose. THANK GOODNESS I BOUGHT IT! When the package arrived, a little note was included explaining that they added an extra 2" to my roll because sometimes the machine used to cut the product causes damages along one of the edges (I couldn't see where, but I'm not complaining over some extra material!). The contact paper was much thicker than I thought it would be for such a low price! It feels super durable and smooth. Installation was super easy! I'm a klutz (as everyone in my life loves to remind me) and while I did mess up the cut and sizing initially, I still had enough material to start over. I ended up cutting a larger section than I needed because I was worried that I wouldn't align the paper correctly and would end up missing some spots. I slowly started on one end of my desk by peeling off a little bit of the waxed paper, sticking the contact paper to the desk, smoothing out any air bubbles with a ruler, before peeling off a bit more of the waxed paper and continuing the process over and over until my entire desk top was covered. Once the paper was completely on and all air bubbles were smoothed out, I took an exacto knife and cut off any excess paper that went over the edges of the desk. I also took a little bit of the excess material and cut a strip to put on the front of the desk right under the top to make it look like a solid marble top. Y'all. Let me tell you. My desk looks INCREDIBLE! I am in LOVE with it! The black/silver marble on the black desk gives off such a classy/gothic vibe I just *chef's kiss*. One of the benefits I've found since applying the contact paper is that my desk is sooo much easier to clean now! I use the desk to do my makeup and if I spill anything or if I get any fallout onto the desk, I can just wipe it off! No stains, no mess, no fuss! I'm considering getting a super large roll to put on our folding table for any post-covid parties! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. As someone who is autistic, I managed to do this by myself with two kids running around part of the time, stopping and going, and it still came out looking like THIS. I was a blown away once I began comparing before and after pictures, and then especially after taking a step back to appreciate what I had done and the transformation that had taken place. I would absolutely recommend doing this if you want to revamp your kitchen or want a DIY that will bring you joy and stimulation. I HAD TO PURCHASE 2 ROLLS. I will be honest, I had done a vinyl job on these countertops with another color and brand from Amazon that didn’t turn out too well, BUT that is simply because I rushed it in my excitement to see the final product, and as a result ended up in bad quality and not a long lasting countertop vinyl. That being said, TAKE YOUR TIME. I used a credit card and one of my Cricut vinyl tools to help me flat and smooth everything down. WASH THE SURFACE of your counter tops or whatever it is that you are placing the vinyl down on and MAKE SURE IT IS FULLY DRY before application. (I have done this 3 times now, just listen to me lol) With this design it is very forgiving and kind to you in terms of patch work and matching up your next piece of vinyl. Measure your countertops and cut the right amount of length for each section, and then you can even cut those in half if you need to for easier application especially if you’re doing this by yourself. First, the design is beautiful! Totally changed the look of my kitchen, and for that I love it. Single mom, took care of the countertops on my own in a day and have already been complimented. That said, I've used several other brands of contact paper with better ease. This isn't as thick and tore easily; I learned quickly to be very gentle. Weird wrinkles throughout the roll (expected at the end, just seems to happen) that took a little extra time to smooth before measuring/cutting. Easy to apply and adhesion is good; I blow dry on low anyway. All in all, not my favorite paper and I'll pay closer attention to brands bc they are NOT all created equal. However, I love the design and the results, even with the extra work, so I'd get it again if I had to. ... show more

This was relatively easy to install. I wish it came with a scraper tool vut an old gift card worked. Its is a bit shiny but looks good. Its thick enough that it doesnt scratch. Its easy to wipe down and clean. I will be using it on the new counter we are adding as well

I covered the top of my entertainment center with it. Made it look stylish since it is on a black background. Unfortunately the edges are starting to come up off of the corners etc. Perhaps I did not prime/ deep clean the top on the entertainment center or clean it with alcohol, etc. but I felt it was very sticky when I removed the backing and it would never come up again.
