Before this holiday season, I've never heard of Govee. I bought some bulbs and this this table lamp from them - bulbs for our living room, table lamp for our daughter's room for Christmas.     • Pretty cool but the cost is maybe much at full price
I like it so far. It has a bunch of different settings with cool scenes like fish, water environments, mood lighting and etc that fit the vibe in my low light room. For even more cool effects, there's a DIY section on the app where users can make their own lighting scenes and upload them. While many are just simple color cycling, other people have made some really cool ones. I found one thats like a rotating double helix that I loved and they can be saved to a list of favorites which you can access at any time and switch it up. You can make your own effects too but I found it a bit cumbersome. The UI on the app as a whole took a bit to figure out and could definitely be streamlined for Joe-Blow-Shmo-Prime-Customer who has all the attention span of a goldfish and little free time to spare, what with all their FOMO anxiety. If you're looking for a lamp replacement with extra frills, this works too. It has a setting for being a regular light that can go from an almost fluorescent bright light with a slide on the app that takes it too a warm, almost orange tinted light that's much easier on the eyes. If set right with the app, this mode an be cycled thru on the lamp itself and have the brightness adjusted there too. It comes in handy if you're just waking up for work and need to find all your crap when getting ready. I got it to match with my govee LED light strips in the room and together I can make a nice vibe, but it's all a little more complicated than it needs to be, I still think this is probably one of the better bluetooth/wifi controlled lightning systems out there and would probably recommend it over others. Still feel I paid a bit much for it even 10-15 bucks off the retail price. I bought a pair of pants from china that took almost a month to get here and ended up being 2 sizes too small so.....far from my most regretted purchase recently. Still liking it a lot and if it's on sale and you've been thinking about it, go for it. ... show more
