This lamp is really bright and great for multiple uses. I mostly use it for ambience and colors, but it can easily light up a room or area of a room like a regular lamp. It was super easy to assemble and connect. There are a lot of cool preset lighting scenes which work really well.

What I was looking for, and what I got were not the same thing in this case—It is really not a reading lamp. However, I'm not returning it! It is sturdily made, will display just about any color of light you can imagine, and even has about a dozen different built-in moving color patterns. It is almost a party lamp for your basement bar or home theater. Better yet, I know a bunch of grandchildren who would love it for their room! Easy to assemble though I recommend the YouTube video rather than the paper instructions. Then easy to set up via the Govee app. It is also straightforward to add it to HomeKit by scanning the tag on the cord from add accessory in the Home app. You can manage a great variety of effects with the Govee app. HomeKit support is more limited, but it does enable you to turn off/on the lamp and add it to automations which is what I cared about. Overall I am very happy with it for the price and would consider more Govee products if they add Matter support. I did consider the Hue floor lamp but the price was a turn off. ... show more
