There is a staggering amount of usable accessories in this fishing kit. This is literally everything you would need to get started. I wish this kit was around when I first started fishing. The pole itself is incredibly well constructed with a light carbon fiber shaft and ceramic rings. It collapses down to a portable size that makes it MUCH easier to transport than the fixed length poles I'm used to. The rings are smooth and allows fishing line (also provided in this awesome kit!) to glide effortlessly when casting and reeling. The reel itself has really sleek action and feels great with the soft foam knob. I was honestly taken aback at how much other stuff comes in the carrying case. It's almost difficult to put it all back in the pouch but luckily there are compartments to assist with that. Oh man there are a lot of useful tools! Besides the pole and aforementioned fishing line, there are also spring loaded pliers and fish grippers, the former being great for working the lures and the latter for working the fish you catch. There are also some jingle bells you can attach to your unattended pole to alert you of bites on the line. And there are a ton of lures. Usually the little complete fishing kits like these leave you lacking but this is the most complete kit I've had the pleasure of getting. The pole extends out to full size, the spinner is so smooth and a joy to use and there is a lure for any fish you could want to catch. Honestly I was super impressed with the lure variety and I love the cricket and craw dad ones as I could see catfish going nuts for them. Living in the land of 10,000 lakes, there are many times when I wished I had some fishing equipment in the car. This set is going in my car, and I am looking forward to using it when spring arrives. At the time of this review (1/13/2024) this set is $57.99 for the seven foot rod, and I feel this is a good value. I like that it comes in a compact case with a good selection of equipment. I gave this four stars in my review instead of five stars for the following reasons: 1. The set I received did not have the multi-function pliers shown in several images. 2. I felt a little more thought could have been given to the included tackle. I would like this set to include some smaller jig heads and smaller hooks since there are quite a few small plastic lures (crickets, worms, and grubs) and only two spoons with small enough hooks for these small lures. 3. A bobber and some split shots would also be useful with the small lures. 4. The plastic case is too small to hold all the contents. Many of the lures are enclosed in plastic bags – after removing them from their bags they will get hopelessly tangled up if one tries to return them to the case. These are minor points, and I’ll transfer some of the lures to another case – it’s better to have too many lures than too few. ... show more

I actually got this fishing kit for my grandson (age 8) but my husband saw it and absconded with it. He loves it! There is so much in this kit that you can't believe it can all be contained in such a small kit. The fishing rod expands to 6 ft (as I was buying for my grandson) but would recommend one of the larger options for a grownup. My husband was very pleased with the quality of the reel. He said it worked very smoothly and would be an asset. Many many pieces of other fishing gear in the kit. A multitude of lures and hooks, alarm bells (to announce when the fish bite), a fish gripper and pliers. I'm sure I have forgotten some. I think this would make a great gift for any fisherman in your life. Small enough to keep in a vehicle and just about every thing you need. This is a very nice beginners fishing set. It comes with a rod, carrying bag, and a small tackle box with everything you will need in it. While this isn’t high quality fishing gear, it is good for a beginner or just to have extra stuff. This would be a nice gift for someone that enjoys the outdoors.
