The protective cover fits perfect, as expected of an official GoPro accessory. It gives me peace of mind that my $400 camera is safe from any accidental drops, scrapes, etc. Can't really notice that it's there. It's easily removable to access the battery and SD card as well.

This is an absolute must have for the Hero 8 for really any use situation. If you scratch the camera lens, there is no way to replace it. The rollcage protective lens can be removed or changed. The rest of the case is a soft silicone to keep scratches and damage off the camera edges. It's likely obvious, but you have to remove the camera from this case to access the battery / SD card. The media could not be loaded. As most of us know, not having removable lens cover is GoPro Hero 8's biggest problem. But luckily this roll-cage provides a bit of a solution. It's well made, perfect cut-outs, and glass is replaceable. Definitely gives me some relief when I'm out filming. I do wish that it came with 2 lens covers instead of 1. ... show more

    • Just what I needed ... and didn’t !
Pros : only 1 . The protective lens cover . ( read below and you’ll see the flip side of this ) Now on to cons ...If I didn’t know better , I would swear this was a generic knock off . I feel It CANNOT be recommended for the following reasons: 1) Hole . This wit her has holes that are misaligned over the microphones or no holes at all where microphones are ( front ) . GoPro microphones already aren’t great . This makes them even worse . 2) the rubber texture and feel is too slippery . Why can’t they add some texture around the perimeter or over the buttons . They have no problems embossing their brand on it . Emboss it to make it more grippy ! Holding this is like holding a frozen stick of butter . 3) the removable protective lens ( something the actual hero 8 should have- but doesn’t ) refuses to stay attached to the rubber cover . It is always popping out . Good idea / bad execution ! And finally 4) price . This is no better then most of the sub $10 ones found on amazon. If you need a cover ... get a generic ... that’s what this one seems like anyhow . ... show more
