  • Great with GrapheneOS
If you don't want to sink $500+ for the Pixel 6 series, this phone is great! For privacy and security folks, GrapheneOS works like a charm on this phone. No issues. Battery life is great, apps are snappy and responsive, camera is good. Also, most importantly, still has a headphone jack.

  • A complete dead screen, it doesn't turn on, it doesn't charge.
The got completely dead. NO power, a 100% dark screen, and it doesn't charge even by using different charging cables or plugs. A complete mess. I would never buy any Google product again.

  • Good camera, but cannot turn off the sound, the off button is super hard to press
I was super excited to by this phone after my pixel 4A 5G which I really loved and this one was supposed to be the same and waterproof. Pros Amazing camera Google features Cons Phone is heavier as it has a metal case and harder to keap in hand cannot turn off the photo and screenshot sound( turnes out that phones made in japan have this in hard part, and it is impossible to change). It's off button is realy hard to press. ... show more

  • Fast charges, but doesn't wirelessly charge, but has a headphone jack!
It's honestly such a step up from what I'm used to, bottom of the barrel, hardly able to use it without going unresponsive. But I decided to really splash out on a phone that I know that will last a while longer and enjoy using it. It's got a headphone jack! Something I didn't even know modern phones come with, happy it does. 128 gigs of storage and Google cloud, it's practically unlimited! It's snappy, and has enough ram to comfortably game and have a thing or two in the background. Battery life isn't the best, but it lasts almost throughout the day, and if you can't, a 20 minute quick charge will definitely help. Solid phone, solid build quality, wish it had a better battery. ... show more

  • Pretty good phone for the $$ until it died outright.
TL;DR: A good phone that sadly crapped the bed 6 months after I bought it, and now I'm having to jump through hoops to get another one. And apparently this model is known for doing this. Don't buy from Mercate group unless you like being ghosted. The camera is, of course, great as that's one of the things Pixels really do well. Calls we clear, features were good, phone ran fine. Not the fanciest, but for the money it was good. Then about 6 months in I was watching TikTok one night (clearly not something that should have caused undo stress) and the screen froze. I turned it off and it never turned back on. I'd get a super brief vibration, but the screen was totally black. Tapping the power button a bunch of times produced some kind of alarm noise, and the next morning the alarms I had set went off, but not with the sounds I'd picked. Instead it was a sort of terrible clanking and the only way to get it to stop was holding the power and Vol down buttons. I looked it up and apparently this is something that the 5a just does. Search for Pixel 5a and it comes right up, or search for black screen of death and you'll get a LOT of hits about this particular phone. It's a known issue apparently. There are lots of tips to try to get it working again, but none of them worked for me. Took it where Google told me and they said the motherboard was fried and I have to send it to Google, but they want a receipt with the serial number on it, which Amazon's invoice lacks. The seller took 2 days to respond and when they did all it said was to use the Amazon invoice which I can't. I'm looking at having to use my old phone for a couple weeks while Google tries to fix it or gives up and sends a new one, but that can't even begin until I get this receipt that doesn't exist. ... show more

  • Outstanding battery life, great overall performances, very good fingerprint reader
After 3 years with the LG flagship LG G6+, that cost me a lot of money and was stuck on the Android 8 version (because of US Cellular), I decided to try a high mid-range phone. After reading some reviews, I decided to abandon LG and go to Google Pixel 5A. And what I can tell you is that I am more than happy with this phone. 1st of all the fingerprint reader works way better than the LG G6+ ( this one stopped working after a few days). Regarding autonomy, it's been a while since I found myself in a situation where I no longer had to worry about recharging my phone for a whole day. And finally, for the price, the performance and general experience far exceed that of the LG G6. Verdict, no need to buy a flagship to have a very good phone ... show more

  • Worked fine for 23 months. Then just died.
It just died on me after 23 months. I didn't damage it or get it wet. It just stopped working under normal circumstances. I see others saying there is a known motherboard problem with this phone, and I am trying to see if they will exchange it. But it may take a day or two to find out and then several days to ship it and get a replacement. Who can wait that long? UBreak IFix said they couldn't fix it. ... show more

  • Best phone on this price range
Coming from a Moto Z2 play from this was like turning water into wine, a very fluid system, system updates every month, really simple to use, PERFECT camera, battery during almost two day of use, much features to discover every day... to resume, you get all you deserve and need for the money.
