Description

The all-season Assurance WeatherReady tires by Goodyear deliver all-weather traction. They feature weather reactive technology that makes tread to lock while cornering and then open adding biting edges on wet surfaces. These tires feature an asymmetric tread design with sweeping traction grooves that evacuate water from the contact patch to improve wet surface grip. The special all-season rubber compound with soybean oil remains pliant even in cold temperatures.

  • Great Tires; but Slightly Over a Year Old, Which May Matter to Some Buyers
Size: 205/60R16
I haven't mounted these tires yet, but they're identical to the ones they're replacing; so I feel comfortable reviewing them based on that experience. Before I go into specifics, however, I do want to mention that these tires were manufactured in the 12th and 13th weeks of 2022, so they were slightly over a year old when I bought them as new. That may or may not matter to you. Here's why. Most experts recommend replacing tires when they're six years old, regardless of mileage. So if you're a light driver, there's a chance that tires purchased when they were already a year old might "age out" before they wear out. That's not my situation, so I'm not worried about it. But it's worth noting for the benefit of those who don't put as many miles on their vehicle as I do. Aside from that, I love these tires. Although I do use studded winter tires, these WeatherReady tires perform well enough in the snow that I can safely swap to the studded winter tires later in the fall, when ice becomes an issue; and swap back to these tires earlier in the spring. They've performed admirably when I happened to get caught in late-fall or early-spring snow of up to about four inches (about 10 cm). By reducing the time my winter rubber was installed, I was able to get six years on my last set of winter tires. They aged out before they wore out. By the way, these WeatherReady's are one of the few all-season tires with the 3PMSF badge, so they're legal in places where that's required for winter or snow driving. They'd also be a good choice for drivers in warmer areas that don't get a lot of snow, but do occasionally get some. In that situation you can use them year-round. In fact, the only reason I don't use these tires during the coldest part of the winter is because my specific circumstances also involve ice, and I like studded tires for ice. If I didn't have to drive on ice, I'd use these tires year-round. These WeatherReady tires also perform well the rest of the year in both wet and dry weather. The best "feel" is probably in cold, dry weather. They're a little more grippy in warm, dry weather than most tires without the 3PMSF; but not annoyingly so (at least for me). I also haven't noticed any hydroplaning in wet weather at any temperature above freezing. Wear has been about what I expected. The tread wear warranty is based on legality, not what any sane person would drive on (especially in the winter); so at about 48,000 miles and still legal, wear has been less than promised by the warranty, but in the range that I expected based on my own standards. Fuel-efficiency wise, I lost about 1 MPG when I switched to these tires compared to the tires that came with the car, which were much less aggressive and were horrible in the snow. The loss in MPG was expected, of course. Actually, I thought I would lose more than that. On the down side, these are not quiet tires. They're among the noisier all-seasons I've driven on. My ears aren't what they were when I was young, so the noise doesn't bother me. But if you're very sensitive to road noise, then maybe this isn't the tire for you. You'd have to balance the noise against the excellent cold-weather and snow performance. In summary, these Goodyear Assurance WeatherReady tires have exceeded my expectations. I've been driving on them for almost four years and are replacing them with identical ones, which is the best testimony I can give. ... show more

  • Great all season snow rated tire
Size: 235/55R19
Surprised to see no reviews on these they are pretty popular around the internet I'm in Chicago and wanted a snow rated tire specificly with the 3PMS rating my wife's jeep has all terrain tires with that 3pms rating and the snow performance is amazing so I went with these because their a allseason tire did not want a aggressive side wall like A\T tires I've got to say they are amazing in the snow they ride smoother then my oem tires have good traction on dry and wet pavement they also have a very high tread life rating at 700 UTQG compared to my oem at 300 higher number is better. I highly recommend these tires for anyone wanting a good all weather tire now if your from the south and don't see snow then I would save some money and go with a cheaper all season or summer tire. ... show more

  • Not Bad For The Money - Cooper Is Much Quieter
Size: 215/65R17
Not Bad For The Money - Cooper Is Much Quieter. I have locations in the Colorado city and mountains. Lots of highway driving as well as dirt roads to my home. These lasted about a year. The wear was quite even and overall a great tire. Thius year a friend recommended the Cooper Truck Tire and I have to say it is much better. The highway driving is very quiet and the off road traction is quite noticeably different. Really noticeable going up hill on dirt roads with a 24ft trailer. Again overall this is a great tire for the money however for now I would say go with the Cooper. ... show more

  • Have 2 Tires at hand before Tire Store takes 1-3 days to get
Size: 225/45R18
Our 2018 VW Golf Alltrack S.E.L. takes these tires. An 18 inch wheel/tire is never in stock near home. When tires wear below 4 mm, its time to replace. Tires in our home garage means having our wagon tires mount, balance and nitrogen set same day. Goodyear WeatherReady have better wet weather grip and often last 2 years, when commuting 500 miles per week. ... show more
