First off, my dog loves these things. He’s 80 pounds and it takes him a few minutes to eat one. It was his bedtime treat every day for at least six months and then the prices jumped up and I switched to freezing chunks of raw liver and giving him a liver “popsicle” before bed. Then I had trouble finding liver so I tried a few other things, including a Kong (too long lasting right before bed, though) and ended up with these again. Somewhere along the way, I learned rawhide isn’t that good for dogs, because of the way it’s processed, but this really is his favorite so I dunno…I will probably go back to liver, which he does really wolf down, it’s just these he takes these like they’re a precious treasure, and tries to take his time, gets every crumb, and seems disappointed when they are gone. Some of the sizes say how many are supposed to be in the package. Like the 12 oz pack is supposed to have 18 of them. I haven’t counted the 12 oz pack, but I was thinking that probably meant the 48 oz pack would have 72 kabobs, and that went into my calculations on whether a pack of these was worth it or not. When I actually counted them, the bag had 56 kabobs, I likely wouldn’t have purchased it knowing that. My dog might like these slightly bulkier kabobs, but I give him one per day no matter how many are in a pack or if they are bigger or smaller, and I feel they weren’t a good value for 56 days of bedtime treats. I would have rated these 3 stars, but my dog definitely considers them 5-star, so we compromised. ... show more

My dogs loves these. He can't quite finish it all the way but it will keep him occupied for hours to days depending on when he gets this treat the next. It is like a little chewing toy that he keeps going back to after other treats. I just throw away the old one when I give him a new one.

I run a dog shelter and all the dogs absolutely love this treat. It doesn't last very long as they are all over 75 pounds, but after 6 years of receiving different treats through delivery, this is the first time they absolutely could not wait and shredded everything and left no evidence of any treats left. My elderly, tooth-challenged small mixed dog loved these. She would strip the soft portions and leave the cores for her pittie sibs. This last bag, however, was hard as a rock. No apparent holes in the bag - just not soft and fresh. I hope that's a fluke, because she is pouting about it. Those pittie sibs, however, are pleased as punch. I will try one more time, but if they aren't softer, I'll have to look for an alternative for her. She's 16, and deserves a treat she can enjoy! ... show more
