For the past year I’ve used a plastic holder with wrap around rubber on the corners. It worked but it was always a hassle getting the phone out of the holder to send a text, make a call, or take into the clubhouse at the turn. The plastic finally broke and I had to find a replacement. Thankfully I found this one. A couple of notes from my first three rounds: 1. Made of 100% metal. No cheap plastic. No way for this to break in my golf bag like my last holder. 2. The magnet is super strong and I was never nervous about it falling. 3. The knobs for adjusting the phone holder are larger than normal and easy to turn. (Great design touch) 4. Really easy to grab your phone from the holder if you need your phone away from the cart or respond to a quick text. 5. The rubber on the inside of the holds the phone perfectly when tightened. So I like the sturdy nature of this holder. It is easy to adjust and easy to get the phone into and out of the holder during the round. My only issue is with the magnet strength. Even though it is pretty strong, I have knocked it off the cart with my $1200 phone in it. I have used a velcro strap to keep the magnet base on the post of the golf cart. ... show more

I am an avid golfer and always struggle with where to place my phone as I use an app to get my shot yardages. This is the best mount I've found. The adjustable width allows for use with bulky cases (I use a wallet case and had no issues with it fitting). Also, the magnet doesn't slip at all, even when driving through some bouncy terrain.
