WOW i am VERY impressed by this lamp. In the guest room we had a $$$ lamp (glass solid brass) --but my sister moved into the bedroom with her 3y twins. They kept bumping into the floor lamp. Although it hasnt fallen over (yet), it worried everyone to think of glass shattering. So I boxed that lamp up, and discovered this wonderful new floor lamp on Amazon: same height as old lamp (60in), shatterproof frosted plastic globes, heavy base so it wont tip over, and BRIGHT lights. I really like the foot push pedal on/off, because the normal knob switches always break quickly. Truthfully--this lamp exceeds my expectations, and for in many ways is BETTER than the other fancy lamp. I bought two(2) lamps and put them together at different times. The first lamp I struggled with the second went together easier, maybe because I already had practice. The main light socket would not function on the second lamp no matter what I did. The one I struggled with is working fine.

The lamp design adds a nice accent, but the bulb covers are flimsy and fall right off. Was under the impression these took reg light bulbs but unfortunately not - Not a deal breaker entirely, but I just have to find a way to better secure the bulb covers.
