We had a canopy by this company before. It lasted well. This one has sturdy poles. The Netting and fabric is thinne. Held on by velcro. Previous one had rings similar to shower curtain rings so side opening could slide open. This model is Velcro and side walls cannot slide open. I like the canopy for the value. It is Nicaraguan others I have seen. I like the the previous design with side walls able to slide open over the Velcro wall. I like the lighter color. Our previous one was dark green. The lighter color let's more light into the house. A plus. Our previous canopy lasted 7 years. When secured to our deck the previous model help up well to heavy wind and storms. We hope this model will hold up well too. Well keep you all posted. ... show more

The legs on the frame didn't seen metal to me. I reinforced them with green fence post all around. I also zip tied the legs to the post. Its holding up good now for a month now.

After all the crappy reviews I thought I’d add a great one. 50 mile an hour winds last night and she still stands. We have had wood for pots as sell as propane. Great too ventilation. The meeting is lightweight year sturdy enough for the price. We have had it for several months with summer weather, rain, and yes brutal wind. The difference is taping each joint for security, and tying it down as instructed. If you leave slack and loose poles, what do you think will happen??? We have serious weather conditions up in th PMW. We ar more than pleased. I. Fact I plan to buy another just for a replacement in the future after out 60 mph wind I. The winter. The media could not be loaded. I love this product the first one we bought years ago, lasted 2 summers and then we give it away to a neighbor. Now we have another. You can't beat this deal if it only lasted one year it would still be a great deal. You do need to be careful and if the wind is blowing really hard take it down. It takes like 5 minutes to take it down with 2 people and one person could do it in about 10 minutes. We move ours every few weeks so to try not to kill out the grass but the last time we left it too long. We think the grass died from lack of sunlight rather than not enough water. I sure hope if you need a back yard gazebo you try one of these. ... show more

It's a little flimsy on the poles. Just got it set up today. The directions aren't too great but it went up in under an hour with help from my husband. The canopy serious pretty well made and the mosquito netting is pretty good! I've screwed it to my deck, hopefully it will hold up on wind and rain. The instructions tell you to take it down in inclement weather, but it's a little too difficult for that. Crossing my fingers! ... show more

    • Too flimsy and cheaply made to handle normal northeast US summer weather conditions
I bought this because it seemed a copy of one I had previously purchased. Sadly, this one was vastly inferior. My original stood up through three summers of usual northwest weather. This one failed almost immediately. Turns out the structural pieces were much thinner than the old one and could not withstand even moderate rain. Te trouble is, when it rains, not all of the water drains through four grommets .. one on each side. Instead it collects next to them and if more than just a very light rain will add a lot of weight that can and did cause supporting rods to collapse. To give credit where credit is due, the company did send replacement parts but that did not solve the problem. They bent again during the next 1/2" rainfall. Also, each of the four corner and top plastic connecting pieces were cracked. Again, this did not happen with my previous gazebo. Wish I could remember who made it. Also the tie down loops at the top of the gazebo are flimsy and tore off in moderate 25 mph winds. If you live somewhere that is mainly rain free and without appreciable winds, this thing is ok. If not, it will not stand up to mother nature. ... show more

UPDATE, approx. 3 weeks later; originally I’d said the canopy held up well during a rainstorm. Well, it’s seems the longer the canopy is up, the more the fabric stretches, which then creates sagging that allows for water to accumulate. The whole top of the canopy caved in because two of the poles snapped due to the weight of the water. I’ve never had a canopy take on so much water before. Save your money. Probably one of the best canopies we’ve ever owned. The metal frame is pretty standard for this sort of canopy, and it’s sturdy. The fabric itself is a higher quality than most canopies. It feels almost like a lightweight canvas as opposed to the usual thin nylon fabric that has come with other canopies we’ve purchased. We use sand-filled weights at each leg to hold the canopy in place during high winds (purchased separately). The fabric has held up during heavy rain, without water pooling on top around the edges. We were actually able to sit underneath it while it poured and we remained dry. Originally, we’d received a canopy that was missing parts. I reached out to Seller who IMMEDIATELY sent out another one and got it to us in time for an event we had scheduled. ... show more
