I ordered this jewelry making kit for my 12 year old daughter. The beads in one of the boxes got mixed up because of the bad design of the box. The boxes can be much more nicer and efficient in storing the beads and keeping them assorted. Along with the beads, the set comes with alphabet beads, rings, hooks, clasps, elastic, etc., that is needed for making the jewelry. My daughter loves the endless colorful beads and has already made few bracelets and necklaces with them. She also said that it was easy for her to run the beads through the elastic. However she says it would have been great if the set came with more alphabet beads. This is a great gift-able option too.. ... show more

This is a pretty average seed bead jewelry making kit. It has a ton of seed beads in great colors, some deorative clay beads, alphabet beads and other jewelry findings. Its a good price for what it is.

The following paragraph is my daughter's review, then I'm going to follow up with some comments of my own: "Love it so much! Came with so many colors and extra beads like flowers and smiley faces and it's so much fun. Came with clasps so you can actually take them off. Make a great activity for any time." She gave it a 5 star review. I'm putting it up as a 4 star review because some of the colors run. I'll also note that I tried to work with her, but my fat fingers coudln't manage these tiny beads. (There is a set of tweezers to grab the pieces). Watchout if there are small kids around - definitely an eating and choking hazard. ... show more

I ordered these for my projects. They are glass, I tested a couple of them, and though they are tiny, I see by other seed beads I have gotten, they are 2mm in size. Along with the seed beads were 15 packets of various beads and other items: 4 different kinds of goldish beads, 1 goldish jump ring set, 1 set of goldish clamps, 1 set of goldish lobster clasps, 1 set of multiple colors of happy faces, 1 set of multiple colors of hearts, 1 set of multiple colors of alphabet, 1 set of black and white alphabets, and one set of 35 white pearls. Along with these that were included are tweezers, the elastic string, and a pseudo seed bead needle (way back when I was making beaded jewelry, a seed bead needle was a real needle not just two pieces of wire welded at each end creating a hole like this one is-ergo pseudo needle). The beads came in 3 different cases of 24 colors each case. They stated that there were 72 different colors. I am a colorist by trade when I was a textile artist (way back when). I see even the most smallest of differences in colors. Too many whose eyes are not trained to see the smallest of colors will think that there are several colors that look like they are duplicates but they are not. It does have 72 colors. In a way these colors that are close in shades would make a good color gradient pendent. There was only one thing that keeps me from giving a 5 star. One of the cases was bent on one side causing all the beads in each of the 4 grids on that side to get mixed up and some to fall out and into the package that it came in. Not sure how many would have fallen out of the package before arriving here. I can understand flaws that come out of a machine, but that is what quality assurance is for, to check for flaws and get rid of them so that customers will get the best that there is to offer. I still would recommend these seed beads for not all will have a flawed case. ... show more

I LOVE how many colours options this kit includes, however it also includes a ton of extra bead types that have nowhere to go. It would have been nice to have those in their own container, so I don't lose them once I open the plastic bags. Includes string and a needle, to make stringing the beads easier, so it's perfect for beginners that might not have adjusted to the dexterity needed. I bought these for my wife who makes bead embroidered earrings. I would say this is a good, inexpensive set for a beginner that doesn't have a lot of colors. About 5% of the beads are unusable, either broken or misshapen. There are different types of beads, including several that are only painted on the inside, some that are transparent and some that solid. The different types don't really look good together. You wouldn't be able to do a brick stitch etc with them because the sizes vary wildly. The extras are fun, we gave them to our kid to play with. ... show more
