Description

GM Genuine Parts A/C Accumulators are designed, engineered, and tested to rigorous standards, and are backed by General Motors. These accumulators are used in A/C systems with an orifice tube metering device. The accumulator is located between the evaporator and the compressor, and serves to capture and store excess liquid refrigerant. This prevents liquid refrigerant from entering the compressor where it can damage the compressor. GM Genuine Parts are the true OE parts installed during the production of or validated by General Motors for GM vehicles. Some GM Genuine Parts may have formerly appeared as ACDelco GM Original Equipment (OE).

  • It was not a perfect fit in my Tahoe, but worked
This accumulator arrived fast, and included the two seal washers. The high side line fitting did not match the same angle as the original GM part, I had to twist my A/C compressor line to get it to fit, see picture. After much manual manipulation, I was able to get it lined up and secured. The fitting is off by approximately 90 degrees counterclockwise, from the OEM fitting, see picture. Once installed, accumulator worked and my A/C system was running cold air once again! ... show more

  • Didn’t fit my 2005 Chevy 2500hd Duramax
There’s nothing wrong with the part. Just don’t be like me, make sure to look at the part on the vehicle before ordering a replacement. I went to Rockauto to find an OEM part number and it listed this accumulator as a replacement for my truck, but, it’s not. It will bolt up to the evaporator and sit in the bracket just fine, but, the outlet port doesn’t line up. As you can see in my pictures, the one installed is the original accumulator and the one I’m holding is the new one. On the original one, the low side pressure switch and the outlet are right next to each other. On the new one, the outlet is way off. Don’t try bending the line to make it fit, find an accumulator that works. I’m sure it’s a good quality part, just not what I needed for my application. ... show more

  • Compare before ordering! There are two styles.
Item was brand new AC Delco, as described. Unfortunately, mine was different. Make sure you compare the pictures of this one to the one on your vehicle. There are two styles. Mine had a large square block in the front where two lines connected to it. Worst part was AC Delco doesn't have that specific one anymore so I had to go aftermarket. Vehicle is a 2000 Tahoe 5.3l with rear AC, but not rear heat..... ... show more

  • It works
It works, and that's what matters with any auto part. My pickup's AC would cool and then freeze and have to be turned off. I had to put up with going along the highway alternately turning the AC on for a few minutes until it froze and the off for a few minutes until it thawed. I read from several sources online that the problem was most likely water in the accumulator. Replacing the accumulator solved the problem. I can now leave the AC on and have cold air all of the time. ... show more
