  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Good way to get hands on a variety of mechanical switches
Note, these are just the switches. If you want to type on them, you'll need to mount them to something. I'm building a custom chording keyboard from them. I figure I'll learn the differences over time and maybe buy a set of my favorites.

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars It's a nice way to determine preferences...
This kit is good if you don't know if you want linear, tactile or clicky. However, the selections in each category could be better. I wish they would do a kit in which they do all clicky, all tactile & all linear to showcase the differences in each category. For instance - spring tolerance, force actuation, bump shapes, sound variance. I understand it is hard when there are so many limited made edition switches, frankenswitches & manufacturers, but it was definitely lackluster in the variance per category. For clarity, I use linear on my gaming board, but I consistently fluctuate on my tactile & clicky boards based on a. what I'm doing, b. time of day & c. mood. XD I want to experience more than Kaihl clicky & more than panda tactiles & this is not as helpful as I hoped. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Great sampler, needs labels of what's what
As others have said, this is just a sampler pack of keyswitches (and o-rings). It's definitely not complete for testing: if you don't have keycaps and a keyboard chassis lying around, you probably want to buy something else. Relatedly, there are YouTube videos of people walking through these without keycaps on them. That's very not helpful: the keycap makes things a lot louder, and is important if you're worried about things being too loud on Discord calls or whatever. If you do, though, this is a super great tool for deciding which set of keyswitches to order from Glorious. My only complaint is that it comes like a box of chocolates: no labels and, if you don't know what's what, you never know what you're gonna get. There is literally no assistance on which keyswitch is which. Glorious doesn't even have a labeled image on their website, so you're stuck looking really closely at the reddish-brownish one that you like, and going through a process of elimination to find out that it's Kailh's Speed Copper. I would be less grumpy about this if Glorious didn't literally print the list of what's in the box on the box. That kind of investment in box art means they could at least have a single image on their website with names for each keyswitch on it. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Great Sample Pack!
Awesome set of switches, all work very well and give a great example of the types of switches out there. Being able to compare lubed vs non-lubed switches was really cool for a beginner like me plus the addition of O-rings of varying sizes and thickness was super useful for feeling how different each switch can be with those dampeners. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Great way to try out a lot of switches.
I'm new to mechanical keyboards and thus had no idea what kind of switch I'd like best. My keyboard came with Gateron Browns, but I wanted to try out other types of switches to see what I liked best and this was the most affordable option. It's kind of shocking what a difference the changes make so I'm really happy there was an option like this on the market for when I'm ready to dive in and start modding. Plus it let me turn my toggle keys (like Caps Lock and Num Lock) clicky without having to buy switch set just for them. It's a subtle change but I adore being able to hear and feel when I accidentally hit all caps without SUDDEN CAPITILAZTION showing up when I'm typing, especially when I'm entering a password or the like. ... show more
