  • FINALLY a solution! Your back will thank you.
My partner and I struggled for a few years (!!) with our high-end box top mattress and box springs sinking in the middle and causing us to roll towards each other in our queen bed. Our wooden bed, while newer, just didn’t come with adequate support. Seriously- they just provided an assortment of 2x4 boards. We tried to build our own center supports, which helped a little, but was lacking. After considerable research and reading the reviews on this system (along with many sleepless nights, tired days and aching backs and joints) we decided to take the plunge and invest in this. It was not completely turn-key easy to assemble, but the other reviewers helped us immensely. So, be sure to read the reviews. We did purchase extra hardware to add to the support. Unsure if it was truly necessary, but it certainly didn’t hurt. This does require attachment to the bed frame, so make sure there is enough of a lip to do so, and use a drill. I would recommend putting this together with a partner. It’s possible alone, but would be much more challenging. There is a video on YouTube that helps a little bit, but we had some initial trial and error (before drilling anything!) to figure it out. It took us about 2 hours to assemble and secure the bed. A little sweat equity went a long way- we immediately noticed a difference like night and day. We no longer roll towards each other, our backs feel better and we are sleeping so much better for nearly a year now. The product has remained in place and hasn’t shifted a bit! Very sturdy and 100% worth the investment. ... show more

  • Exactly what I needed to replace wooden bed slats!
The bed slats I was using for my queen size frame were just slightly too short and kept falling out of the frame. This product was EXACTLY what I needed to replace them; the fact that it’s adjustable was the real selling point because I was so worried about ordering another set of boards that would be the wrong size. The only negative is that it did take me quite a while to assemble alone. The diagrams in the instructions are printed pretty small and some parts are not very legible. But I figured it out and am super happy with how it’s holding up! ... show more

  • Not fully adjustable
Let me first say the quality of manufactured steel bed supports very good. That being said, I find this bed support is not fully adjustable for some King size beds. I have a high-quality solid oak bed frame that is prefitted with insert screws at precisely the strongest point where cross supports should be installed. In order to use the X-braces provided with Gladeaway X-Support Bed Frame support system I would need to drill holes in my oak bed frame which I will not do. Instead, I installed the Cross members of the Gladeaway frame at the existing prefitted insert screw points. At these points the X-Braces are approximately 4 to 5 inches short so the X-Braces could not be used. To provide stability I retrofitted a 76-inch 1/3 hard wood board down the center where the X-Braces would be. The hardwood board was bolted to the three floor support Legs at precise location where the X-braces would have been attached. the bed support is very secure. I elected to use this bed support system and not waste time and extra money on the more expensive bed support system. This one works for me, but I recommend to anyone planning to purchase this for a king size bed be prepared that you may need to drill holes in your frame or do as I do. I would like to hear from the seller and manufacture about why the X-braces are not adjustbable. ... show more

  • Solid piece for price
I have a king size low profile bed that I bought in 2020. The bed frame and mattress were perfect when they arrived but to my surprise they came with wooden slacks and wooden support posts for underneath. Me being a 290lb guy I just didn’t see how that could hold up for the next few years and I was right. They finally cracked and the supports bent. I found this metal support frame and thought I’d give it a shot. The assembly and install were actually really simple and if you do need some more visual support there is a YouTube video for this exact model. The only thing I had a problem with is that these metal beams did not match up with my pre-drilled holes and I had to measure and make some new ones. Besides that this thing is a solid piece of work. I can feel the difference in the support and your bed will stay in place no matter what activities you may do in bed lol. ... show more

  • It works!

  • Perfect for antique bed and foam mattress
I bought this after the wooden supports on my antique bed failed. I had combined them with modern slats and the foam mattress just sunk into the middle and was really uncomfortable. This replaced the wooden supports, was so easy to put together, and in combination with the slats, my bed is so sturdy and comfortable. I wish I had purchased it sooner! ... show more

  • Its sturdy and works.
The directions aren’t super clear but if you look at them and the parts its pretty straight forward. You just need to read and pay attention. Its pretty heavy duty. Its made in the US so its heavy steel. Before you ask, the box is stamped with a US flag so i just assumed.

  • Worked perfectly with the metal sideboard we had
Helps if you have two people to install, but it was relatively easy and quick. We didn't have any middle supports at all and just had some boards placed between the side supports that kept falling out. The bed feels so much more sturdy and comfortable now.
