I bought this as a way to recycle/repurpose glass bottles. I've been reading & studying different brands for a while and I came across this one. I followed the instructions exactly as they were printed and it works flawlessly. In the instructions it says to start with boiling water then use ice water (repeat as necessary). I got to my second use of hot water and the bottle just simply seperated. The instructions also make mention to make sure the scoring line is straight and to ONLY score the bottle once. I may have went an inch longer than needed and when the bottle seperated, there is a small notch that is not perfect. I have used the provided sand paper and smoothed the edges on both pieces and I couldn't be more pleased. If you're on the fence on which brand to use, I encourage you to go ahead and buy this one because it's so simple to use. ... show more

I first purchased a grinder back in July and missed the return window. The first grinder tripped our breaker and then would not turn on at all, changed fuses and nothing worked. The website online was not functioning when I wrote the review and soon after, the vendor sent a new grinder, and works as expected now. I loved the ease of use, plus not having to worry about using a wet sponge to keep the bits wet. Unfortunately after almost a year it blew a fuse. I tried to replace it, unsuccessfully, and reached out to the company. They were quick to respond, and after an email with a picture of problem they resolved the issue by sending me a new grinder. Very compassionate customer service, and now I can finish my stained glass projects! ... show more

    • Products cutting tip bracket was crooked
I trusted the item would be good so I didn't use it right away. When I did I saw that the bracket that holds the cutting tip was skewed therefore every cut didn't meet up. I ruined 4 bottles and gave up. So much for the 90 day return, it only gave me 30 days. ***" Update on product*** the company reached out to me and offered to replace the one that I had.     • One screw hole inoperable

I bought this tool specifically to score various-width bottles for wind chimes. Although the bottle scorer design is decent, there is a flaw in one of the screw holes, making its use impossible. With only two of three holes working, my options for cutting size were limited. I have used the same scoring wheel on over 50 bottles and it’s still in good shape. It takes a bit of practice to break the bottles neatly with whatever method one chooses (I use 110 degree difference between cold/hot water), but those issues are unrelated to the bottle scorer itself. All in all, I expect at least a third of my bottles to break incorrectly due to the glass itself. Just an FYI. ... show more
