If you're an aquarium enthusiast or a casual hobbyist, this is a very nice nano tank kit if you're looking to build a nano tank. The tank itself is made of nice clear glass, with a water filter, lid, and a small LED light. Everything you need for a small tank is included. The water filter is the same model as the 3-gallon version, so it's good enough to circulate water throughout the tank. However, the carbon filter doesn't fit, but you can simply use the included sponge filter, which is adequate. I feel like the light is a little too bright for this tank. However, you can use some black tape to cover part of the light to fit your plant needs. Please note that this is a small tank, so you should check the requirements of any fish you plan to put in it. I found this nano tank to be perfect for my nano shrimp tank project. Though my other aquarium components aren't here yet, I'm excited to complete my project with this nano tank. What a fun little tank. I used to have many 20,40,60 gallon tanks over the years and I swore off the hobby for good, until I saw this little PicoNano tank and I fell in love. So small, perfect for a little aquascaping and Zen feeling of the water flowing. This is almost all ready to go just need substrate and fish. The small pump HOB filter fits perfect with the light clamp in the back and even has a little room for space for air tube if needed and the top lid fits firm, and the inside little round removable lid is a nice addition for feeding and cleaning. The walls are thick, the pieces fit together for the most part (I had trouble getting the filter plastic carbon (?) sheet in the space with the sponge, it was one or the other not sure if this is common I will make some adjustments and figure out which is best I thought both would fit but mine doesnt, and I didn't want to force it. Not a big deal I'll dial it in this weekend as I still need substrate and decide if plants or fish or shrimp and that's part of the fun. It also came with a little mini protien skimmer attachment and some small clear part I couldn't figure out where it went, perhaps just packaging. Upside: it fits perfect in cubed style furniture or office desk, nightstand or bookshelf. Uniquie tiny elegant little tank that got me back into keeping fish again. The bendable light is perfect to raise and lower it so you can use it for a table lamp even it sheds quite a bit of throw of light. Downside: No dial or adjuster for light, is on or off and is quite bright. Three times as much as needed unless using it for terrarium or plant growing or vivarium terrarium style in my opinion. The on/ off switch is closer to the plug and not in the middle of the cord or closer to the light, or on the light base itself making it quite hard to access on the regular, best for a plug built into the desk or place extension cord close by. Feels like it was designed backwards but that is just ease of function. Sometimes more isn't better. Advises to plug in higher, and I do agree to make at least a drip loop in case water leaks it will stop at loop instead of direct line to the outlet this is standard aquarium 101. Super fun little tank, I'm hooked. It’s a beautiful tank. But don’t put fish in this. I think it’s just too small for anything realistically. The size is almost like a tall vase so you have to be quite creative with the way you scape the layout. Because it’s more tall than it is wide, it doesn’t give you much room to figure out a good scape… nice light as a bonus and the filter is surprisingly good quality for such a small tank. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This is an excellent little aquarium kit. Everything in it feels quality. The glass is very clear. Tank has cushioned bottom pre-installed. The pump runs well, and is very quiet. The light has a nice mount, and is bright enough to support plant growth. The light does not have a built-in timer, so you will have to provide that yourself. The cover fits well and has slots for oxygen transfer, as well as a feeding hole so you don't have to remove it when feeding fish. The filter system came with a carbon filter, which I could not figure out how to install. The foam, honestly, should be enough. The pump assembly is inside the filter chamber and can't be removed. That means you will need a plier or long tweezer to remove the impeller - a minor inconvenience but must be noted. Also, you must be aware of your intentions for this tank. It is very small, only about 1 gallon. This can be a challenge to someone not familiar with aquarium setup and maintenance. This tank could house a Betta, Neocaridina Shrimp or half a dozen Mountain Minnows, but I would caution not to overload this tank. You will have to provide your own sand, gravel, plants, etc. This is a great little tank, and a nice one to start someone out on the hobby. I love my aquariums, but a solo fish in a tiny cell is something I can't do, even for fighting fish. The unit itself is much more versatile than a sole function. The tank itself is as nice as any and nicer than some; the light is comparable to others, but the rest of the mechanicals I'm quite skeptical about, the pump mainly. I have hard well water to work with, so a lot of pumps just aren't holding up to it, that and the live plants make for harsher-than-average water conditions, in all fairness.
