Our kitchen had six year old pegs old holding shelves in place, a couple of times a peg or two would break off right inside the hole making it impossible to remove. These old pegs were also starting to bend down from the weight of all the dishes. One day I open the cabinet and realized that if I shelf with all these dishes collapsed on someone in the house it would not end well so my search for new pegs began, I measured the hole and started looking for stainless steel pegs that I hope would not bend! I haven't had these long enough to vouch for the quality but at this point I can say I'm very happy and I don't feel like anything will fall on my head! They stayed in place, they look great and minimal and they fit perfectly. They also came packaged in a cute little plastic box! If you're thinking of replacing text in your kitchen or any other shelf unit I would highly recommend these because they seem to be the perfect length to keep the shelf up securely and they also seem to be made very well.     • Reasonable dimensional accuracy
As measured with digital calipers, my container of dowels ranged from 4.97mm to 5.03mm in diameter with a mode of 4.99mm. Dowel length ranged from 24.87mm to 24.98mm with a mode of 24.9. These steel dowels are nonmagnetic with a smooth polish and have a small chamfer on the edge.

If you've ever put a peg into a peg call and found the shelf may be just a bit short or you need extra support, these are the perfect solution. Our bookshelf case is a bit over filled. Two shelves fell down recently. Had to find a fix for this. These didn't fit exactly but just gave them a couple of taps with the hammer. Bah boom , right in. Longer then the ones that came with the bookshelf. Strong feeling. I feel the dowels will hold for a long while. Happy with our purchase. :) ... show more

    • Fine but a bit big
These are as advertised BUT a tiny bit larger than other 5mm pins I’ve bought. So they’re hard to get into holes that other 5mm pins have fit.

My husband is building a bookcase for one of our granddaughters. We used these pegs as supports for the adjustable shelves. I think the molding over the pegs adds a nice touch.

These were perfect for my shelves! I had some 1x10s cut at Home Depot, but they were a little short for the standard 1/2 pegs and kept falling down. These were long enough to hold the shelf and fit nice and snug in the holes in the cabinets
