The trouble I went through to get these plates! The moment I saw them, I fell in love! I had to have them! I first saw them on another company’s site. I quickly placed an order. They were shipped by another shipping company. Once I received them, most of the saucers and bowls were broken. I quickly returned them and reordered again. To my surprise, they were broken again during shipment. I was very frustrated and disappointed! Again, I returned them to the company I ordered them from. So, got the idea to see if I could order them through Amazon. Sure enough they were available to order! I was happy to see that I could and placed an order. Okay, I try not to put much importance on material possessions, but these dishes are everything I hoped and dreamed. They kind of remind me of the gills on the underside of mushrooms, but the ridges are shallow enough that they're super easy to clean. The green is earthy but a very pretty shade, and pics really don't do them justice. They're perfect for my decor. I did end up having to return the first set due to defects in the glaze of two pieces but the second set had no issues. The wide bowls are amazing for anything that may need to be mixed, like salads or pasta or cereal, and have a tall enough lip that things stay inside when doing so. The taller bowls are deep and perfect for soup, with less worry about boil-over when used in the microwave. They're the perfect weight: heavy enough to be good quality but not too heavy to be cumbersome. Dishes were packed well and both sets arrived unbroken, which is more than I can say for some companies. My boyfriend loved them so much that he also got a set. Highly recommended. ... show more

I was really hoping that what the seller called "light blue" looked much more like the aqua blue that the Amazon photos show. And it does!! These plates and bowls exceeded my expectations. They are solid, but not overly weighty. They have a lovely curved shape and gorgeous coloration - just like the pictures. They have a "fluted" design at the inside bottom of the dish (what looks like a sort of sunburst or chrysanthemum design that you see in the picture) that adds to their beauty. The glaze has a high shine, which I love. I highly recommend these gorgeous dishes! I'm thinking I will buy a second set to make service for 8!! ... show more

I purchased the terracotta style of these and they have been great. They are nice and thick, durable, and stylish. I was worried they might chip easily but that has not been the case! My only problem has been that despite saying dishwasher and microwave save, be careful putting these in the microwave. Even 1 minute at normal power in the microwave, can make the plate so hot it could seriously burn you. ... show more

Beautiful colors. Sturdy. Washes well in dishwasher. Did have one bowl that came at time of shipping with crack. I contacted customer service at Gibson per recommendation from Amazon and they sent replacement. Was so grateful not to have to send back product for one obvious manufacturer defect.
